Yep! The violence that people hear about is so concentrated. Remember when it was two shootings on the same street, like a week apart? Unless you’re living in those neighborhoods, you rarely experience it for yourself, just hear it on the news.
They do the same thing with Chicago. And of course if you don’t lead a clean life you are gonna be in the mix of some bullshyt

Yep! That’s why the opportunities need to be identified early, so people won’t even go down the wrong road. I can’t speak enough about the options in Maryland for black people. We have a lot of pockets of black wealth too, like the Ashburton in Bmore and communities in PG county as well.

I had no idea Ashburton even existed until I did Uber a few years back. People forget there’s a lot of old black money here since this city had the highest number of free blacks during slavery

Everywhere...You never there.
Raleigh-Durham getting it, even tho Charlotte is bigger, RD seemed to be the Black Cultural center of NC. When I was living in CLT the locals there would always say RD was popping and had a lot going on. Charlotte not a slouch either, it’s a concerted effort there to pop off the Black social scene and its more than enough brehs there with money to make it work. My only thing with Charlotte was brehs who hurting there are hurting bad, and I didn’t really see nobody trying to throw them a lifeline either. Like when they was playing with building that mass transit line down Beatties Ford I was like WTF?!? Them folks need it the most. I think in about 20 years Charlotte gonna have some rough ass hoods

Well said ... low key , the emphasis on trying to continue to raise Charlotte’s black social scene profile (especially by the newcomers/non-natives) might be a hinderance.

NC Black entrepreneurship had its flagship blocks in Durham and carried over to Raleigh . The black business and professional network across several sectors has been established . Charlotte with all its new money and black transplants are still trying to establish that .

I will say the gentrification wave is hitting both cities , pushing black folk farther outside the city core. Raleigh might even be worse than Charlotte in that regard .

:jbhmm:had I known about them areas like Montebello and Park Hill I would've def consider moving there. Thanks @BlackPearl The Empress good look on the info

I just realized something.

I’m planning a road trip from NYC to go try Native American cuisine in New Mexico and I’m wondering on my way back should I explore Denver

:ohhh:

I just remembered Denver has great cannibus restaurants.

That’s what I at least got from watching VICE.

The Church is a "Mexican" club...why'd you go there lol?
If you want trap w/ a diverse or mostly black crowd(Dorchester, Onyx, The Drink)
Larimer Beer Hall(trap music but madd white)

Even in NYC you can find yourself in a mostly Domincan/Puerto Rican spot

Places like Washington where my family lives and San Jose where I know a lot of well to do blacks live, have in common

They’re married families that continue to build compared to places like Cleveland where my family also lives and Indianapolis where u have a high number of single parent homes struggling

Baltimore
The sad part is we actually have black folks that buy into it thinking the whole city is like the Wire. When we talk about cities prospering on here Baltimore gets dismissed. You hear more talk about PG county. This thread shows that middle class blacks are eating here. On top of that we have the highest percentage of black owned businesses in the country

Yea, we're never in the news for anything positive. Black business in Baltimore is bubbling quietly, but we have to be more vocal about the positives of Baltimore.
