You're a Knicks fan. You are biased as I was when i listed Mourning over Ewing as much as I tried not to be

Let's just agree to disagree here.

For the record I'm not a Dwight Howard fan by any means. The fact that he wears a Lakers jerzey makes me dislike him even more. But given his talent and his youth I expect him to end his career better than Ewing.

Now if you tell me you dont like his game because he relies on athleticism 98.99% of the time? YES.. I AGREE. Same exact reason I always preferred Duncan over SHaq. But If you ask me who i'm picking between the two on MY team i gotta say as much as i like to root for my fellow caribbean brethrens (my bias for Ewing) I gotta go with the goofy clown everyone loves to hate
besides the fact that he has more hardware, you haven't said why you would pick him. He's shorter, scores less, blocks less, and cant' shoot free throws. Mind you -- these are all numbers from THIS weak era to boot.

The only thing Dwight does a little better is rebound. Why would you pick him over Ewing?

Okay the Mournng pick was a homer pick being a heat fan and growing up in Miami :pachaha:
You will NOT change my mind on the David Robinson pick. :hmm: fukk you.
Dwight is still young so i expect him to surpass Ewing. They have as the same amount of championships (0)

Finals appearances
Ewing - 2
Howard - 1

Defensive Player of the Year
Ewing - 0
Howard - 3

League leader in rebounding
Ewing - 0
Howard - 5

League Leader in Blocks
Ewing - 0
Howard - 3

I mean outside of Ewing's sicker than life fade away I dont see why i should pick him over Howard :manny: Go ahead and make your point. I'm listening

HEART

Dwight Coward is even softer than the Admiral. Ol shook ass center deficient era underachiever. How is Joachim Noah arguably better than you?

Pippen averaged less points than all the following players SFs but was a better player than all of them

  1. Cedric Ceballos
  2. Dominique Wilkins
  3. Glen Rice

:what:

First off :duck: ... Ceballos did not average more than Pippen. Second, we all know that Pippen is a top 50 player because of his prowess on defense just as much as offense.

He's on my list for most overrated player from the 90's:yeshrug:

I love him for nostalgic reasons, but I was never that impressed by him.

Seems like a good dude/real popular amongst the players, though.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he was a scrub, but he was nowhere near the Barkley, Malone, Hakeem level.

David Robinson is another dude who I thought was overrated.Great athlete/phenomenal stats, but I don't remember him going on any playoff runs and carrying the Spurs on his back.He just never showed any heart or killer instinct. What's his big moment? the 70 point game against the raggedy ass Clippers to edge out Shaq for the scoring title? This nikka don't have any post season folklore....Regular season stat machine

He was a stand up guy, but he wasn't built to be a true superstar.Great stats, but I don't really have any David Robinson stories to tell.

Duncan had to come show him how to do that.

Pat was notorious for getting posterized, which diminished his legacy imo. It was to a point where if you were an upcoming all-star you had to have a signature dunk over Ewing.

Ok you got Kareem and Wilt, Russell was on the decline in Reeds prime, ...

Reed started his career in 1964, so kill all of that "on the decline" talk. :rudy:

Jerry Lucas and Nate Thurmond were also in that NBA.

Jason Kidd was not slow and clumsy :mindblown:

Ewing's defense fell off in the late 80s

Ewing wasnt overrated. It took many centers in CHICAGO to collaborate and play D on him come playoff times. Bill CartWright owes the last 6 years of his career to Ewing for giving him a purpose to exist. He was old but had "technique" to keep Ewing out of the post and not go off for 35 and 12 everytime they played the Bulls

Robinson was a beast until he got hurt and he was never the same after that.

Some of ya'll have these expectations of these athletes to carry a team as if it aint the few special ones that can do that. Once he came back Duncan was balling so he played his role but when healthy Robinson was making all centers not named ONeal and Olajuwon look like little kids playing against grown men. Problem was he never had much help before duncan

  • Avery Johnson was a decent point guard but no perennial all star
  • Sean Eliott at his best was Richard Jefferson in his prime.
  • There was another cat they had that was up and coming but he took the money and ran to the Blazers to get paid. Cant recall his name.

Holy shyt.. in one thread alone I found out:

- Dwight Howard is better than Patrick Ewing
- Willis Reed was better than Patrick Ewing
- Ewing's legacy is tarnished because he was repeatedly dunked on
- Jason Kidd was slow and clumsy
