That's a blatant contradiction breh.![]()
I am not denying all of the factors that go into winning or losing or the impact of teammates. I am not even putting it all on him or denying how well he's played. I'm saying he's clearly not having elite impact his numbers notwithstanding AND it's his fault the team is stuck with these streaky, unstable guys around him.
How so? I said to a certain degree. Everyone played their minor role(s) and Melo was the protagonist - he led them.
That's the only thing I agree with - because he did make his own bed.
If you say he isn't having elite impact on the team, than what players in this league could have the team functioning comprehensively better than he could? (any players out of position you have to find the SF equivalent, e.g. if you say CP3, then a Felton-caliber SF would have to be in place of Melo)
The funny thing is Melo is actually playing better this year than he was last year.So why isn't he leading them this year? Uh because he didn't lead them last year. They played over their heads and it had nothing to do with him. He's not a galvanizing, "rally the troops" type player. Leadership as well as how your game meshes with and compliments others is a part of the deal too.
The bed he made is a big part of the reason the team is functioning like it is. For example if you replace him with George, they would've had $40 mil in cap space (difference between Melo and George's salaries this year + the $20 mil they would have if they could amnesty Amare) AND their first round pick this year. Once again the teammates pass is out the window when you the one who limited your teams ability to provide better teammates.
Can't replace Melo with George lol. George is good on the pacers. Anywhere else hed be Rudy GayThe funny thing is Melo is actually playing better this year than he was last year.
Paul can actually defend, so nah. Can't replace Melo with George lol. George is good on the pacers. Anywhere else hed be Rudy Gay

get out of here with trying to replace Melo with PG like its some even trade. The funny thing is Melo is actually playing better this year than he was last year.

Because there's basically nothing to lead. Even if he was a galvanizing, 'rally the troops' type of player, they'd still be in disarray. He isn't a point-forward so his leadership and how well he meshes with players on the court, can only go so far - Felton has more say on how the games flow as opposed to Melo. But we're not talking about him having equal impact to LeBron, we're talking about him being a top 10 player - you can not list nine other players in the league that are better than him, because there's only two in the league who are definitively better.

You're getting shyt twisted, because his off the court decisions weren't the best and share partial blame for the on-court product of the squad; it basically holds no weight in where he ranks as a player. Since when the hell did we judge a player's abilities on financial decisions? Yes, he deserves lil' sympathy for the situation he put himself in, but that doesn't take away from him being a top 10 player.

PG defense will be worth nothing in the Knicks switch everything defense. PG gonna have Stat protecting the Paint not Roy...big difference.
The "bed" melo made isnt what the plan was. It was supposed to be Melo,Stat, and CP3. The knicks jumped the gun and wasted the Amnetsy on Billups to get Tyson fresh of a championship.
The Knicks organization has proven over decades that they arnt the smartest bunch but yet its Melo fault THEY made the trade. Lets ignore the fact they had ALL the leverage and Donnie Walsh was playing hard ball with Denver because of it. Melo told Denver he aint resigning, and he wants to go to the knicks witch prevented Denver from trading him to another team cause he wasnt gonna resign with that team, the Knicks had all leverage in the Deal breh and if they didnt like what Denver was asking for they could of waited to get him in the summer....but then Dolan got nervous and stepped in and the rest is history.
With all that said why do people continue ignore Stats 100 mill contract thats preventing the Knicks from getting some soild players.
