People in here are selling mariotta short on the white board. Chip Kelly has said before he is a very intelligent player.
I don't really understand the hate dude gets on here. But you know how the Coli is.

As a 16-year-old, Mariota already could fling a football 70 yards.
Taken from a Denver post article.. Is his arm really as weak as y'all make it out to be? I doubt it.
Mariucci: Go up to the whiteboard, Marcus.
Marcus:
Mariucci: Draw up what I just said.
Marcus:
Mariucci: What's the concept behind this scheme?
Marcus:
Mariucci: What was your 40 time?
Marcus: 4.5
Mariucci: I don't give a shyt. I just wanted to see if you were deaf because that white board is still blank. Now draw up the fukking play, you quacking fakkit.
Marcus:But I'm fast![]()
Yes, probably more than u. The league is figuring out Chip. Just as USC and sec teams figured him out.
They were under sanctionsThis was a gem. When did USC and their 5-star recruits finally "figure out" Chip and his 3-star recruits? I think Oregon hung 62 on USC the last time they played, no?

Remember the RG3 stanning?the Jameis stanning has gone too far
It's crazy how much terminology and shyt can change from one level of the sport to the next and even one organization to the next in most sports really. You really can't underrate something like that in a young player. You've been salty on Jameis for a minute.
Hearing NFL players on NFL radio fawn over Winston's quick on his feet understanding of passing concepts, down to the point where he immediately spoke on the difference in terminology, IS a big deal to NFL coaches.
Congrats....you being a Coli user doesn't think its a big deal...but let's thank god that it is to actual NFL teams and coaches who would rather spend time creating game plans for a young qb than spending time "teaching" a young qb the basics.
It's easier on coaches dumb ass...which is why they have whiteboard sessions during interviews like Mooch showed. But here you are being a hateful dumb ass instead of staying in your ignorant non knowing shyt about football ass lane.
Put down the hate Pom poms and accept the fact that this kid knows his shyt.
If I'm a team I'm taking that, Kaep led a team to a superbowlI don't think the issue with Mariota is arm strength. He needs to show that he can process defenses and make the second read and not automatically run when his first read is not there.
To me, he can be somewhat like Russell who creates time for himself while he's deciphering defenses. Russ has great awareness and can feel where the pressure is coming. Mariota has shown he has some of that skill, but in college he runs when he breaks the pocket where Russell looks to create time to pass.
To me, he looks like he's gonna be Kaepernick 2.0
Not as good an athlete, but better throwing mechanics.

He "led" that team?If I'm a team I'm taking that, Kaep led a team to a superbowl![]()
You are fukking stupid if you believe Mariota has tore up better defenses than KapMariota is a much smarter player and better decision-maker than Kaepernick, not to mention a better passer. He tore apart much better teams than Kaepernick could touch.
That being said, no one can really know how a QB's game will translate. The only two sure things I've ever seen were Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Mariota isn't a sure thing because he'll be working in a new offense, and Winston isn't a sure thing because he's too cocky and makes too many risky passes. I think that Mariota ends up somewhere between a poor man's Kaepernick and the next Randall Cunningham, while Winston could be anywhere between Big Red and some sort of mutant cross between Peyton and Big Ben.
Yeah, the credit goes to the quarterback whether deserving or not. Kaep was the piece that took them over the hump wsn't he?He "led" that team?
