A 19 year old is old enough to understand. Even then teenagers are a relatively new concept in our histories and societies. You cling to these concepts like they mean anything in places where they are out of context.

A coddled 19 year old man child is something only privilege can create. Most people around the world especially the developing world do not share these views. They won't look at him the same way. Our own society wouldn't look at him the same way if we went back almost a century. Teenagers went from lying about their age in order to go to war to being grown children. The mental maturity in Western society has regressed.

I wouldn't say he deserved it as more its just a natural consequence of entitlement issues a lot of white people in the US have which is somewhat buttressed by racism and ignorance.
