Our 7th grade teacher used to carry a pistol and wasn’t shy about letting us know she’ll make it clap.
Our 9th grade Civics teacher spent 30 out of 45 minutes of each class day in and day out ranging just dude in the video. She would end each rant with “y’all are going back to slavery, …….Cadillac style”
I remember parents coming to the school in gowns and house shoes cursing out the teachers when their bad ass kids got ISS or suspended outright.
I remember kids trying and fighting teachers. Brawls in the cafeteria and gymnasium.
That shyt was more prison than school. I wonder how much quality education and development a lot of the good kids from good homes missed out on given the unruly and dangerous environment.

What those children deal with goes far beyond what 1 teacher can fix. Those children are the byproduct of systematic failures and disenfranchisement. The real failure here is continuing to preach a message that simply going to school and getting an education in school systems that fail black children on a national level is somehow the key to navigate past this failed system.

Yes I remember all this shyt back in the day. I went to school in the 90s and shyt was just wild. Some of the shyt that was happening and said back then just common to us. Security guards and police officers use to fukk some of the cheerleaders and other chics. Buy them lunch or take them out of class right before. shyt I remember watching a guy that lived two streets over straight up start fighting the principal in the hallway in front of everybody back in middle school. It got broken up but he got some good punches on him before the rest of security came. Of course he was expelled.
Luckily I was in the magnet program and was in another part of the school but lunch time was like gen pop. I've seen full scale brawls break out at lunch people get cut and blood start spilling (those sharp aluminum trash cans back in the day had those sharp edges and would cut the shyt out of you if thrown). I remember we had 3 lunches and me and my friends would all try to get the same one or they would skip class just to make sure we all could see shyt pop off. It wasn't always violent but something was always happening but basically this shyt been broken for a long time. Its just that kids have phones and you can see the shyt now in HD.

I was in the magnet program too in High School. In middle school I was in the smart classes. Def saved me from a lot of issues. I remember things seemed to calm down in the 10th grade. A ton of the trouble makers had dropped out between end of 8th and 9th grades.
