Above the fray.
I was gonna say this. Has someone been arguing that White women were just the innocent victims of the slavery era? :what:
I think the author of the book was challenging the false notion that's promoted now in academia and media. That feminism is some extension of the kinship that white women and Black women have always had in this country. That the white man is responsible for oppressing all other groups of people, and that white women were powerless to prevent it.

Before you laugh. think about how many times you heard the term "post racial America" when Obama was in office. Media gatekeepers promoted that lie then, and they're promoting false stuff about feminism and intersectionality now

Why do white supremacist politics in America remain so powerful? Elizabeth Gillespie McRae argues that the answer lies with white women.

Examining racial segregation from 1920s to the 1970s, Mothers of Massive Resistance explores the grassroots workers who maintained the system of racial segregation and Jim Crow. For decades in rural communities, in university towns, and in New South cities, white women performed myriad duties that upheld white over black: censoring textbooks, denying marriage certificates, deciding on the racial identity of their neighbors, celebrating school choice, canvassing communities for votes, and lobbying elected officials. They instilled beliefs in racial hierarchies in their children, built national networks, and experimented with a color-blind political discourse. Without these mundane, everyday acts, white supremacist politics could not have shaped local, regional, and national politics the way it did or lasted as long as it has.

With white women at the center of the story, the rise of postwar conservatism looks very different than the male-dominated narratives of the resistance to Civil Rights. Women like Nell Battle Lewis, Florence Sillers Ogden, Mary Dawson Cain, and Cornelia Dabney Tucker publicized threats to their Jim Crow world through political organizing, private correspondence, and journalism. Their efforts began before World War II and the Brown decision and persisted past the 1964 Civil Rights Act and anti-busing protests. White women's segregationist politics stretched across the nation, overlapping with and shaping the rise of the New Right. Mothers of Massive Resistance reveals the diverse ways white women sustained white supremacist politics and thought well beyond the federal legislation that overturned legal segregation.

Sorta. I just finished the book (Audible) last week.

She is challenging the "southern belle" myth. White women were always seen/portrayed as innocent victims -- and not apart of the enslavement of our people --- but they were.

Many owning, trading and running large plantations. They also were more brutal than White men in many cases.

The book goes over sourced stories of white women engaging in every part of slavery. It mainly aims to break the "Gone With The Wind" narrative White women and White men love to uphold.

This.

White women and women in general are never considered agents of oppression. In fact, a Black feminist on twitter even said that White women had a less privilege than Black male slave.

Also, in old school player philosophy that you can read in Black Players of America or even Soul on Ice, White women aren't really considered agents of oppression. Often hear the idea that White women and Black men are the most oppressed because they are denied each other, meanwhile White men and Black women are not (I don't think that, that's idiotic). Tariq even said this on an old MackLessons podcast.

Think of how the White woman is even portrayed and thought of in media, when you ever seen an evil and terrible White woman do anything evil and terrible to a Black person or a person of color? Get Out was the only movie that really showed the role of women in racism and people thought she was brainwashed to be like that and not genuinely like that.

Women are the handmaiden of an oppressive society. Men oppress to protect women. Women raise oppressors. There is an old poem that states the hand that rocks the cradle controls the world.
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (poem) - Wikipedia

Historically, women were oppressed in a variety of ways but they were also considered the most important part of society because they maintain the culture and identity of the society because they raise the next generation. What happened was, feminism happened and we want from seeing women as agents in society to being some kind of maid/nanny class, that was locked away inside all day and waited for the man to come home. If society is fukked up, it ain't just because men out here being a$$holes, women are teaching their children to be that way because it works in their favor - the evil that men do protects women.

Soul on Ice was a mess. He was obsessed with white women and literally hated and raped BW and girls.

He was disgusting.

Are Black men and Black women the same in everything throughout history, the good and the bad?

This is about White people. You can't compare us to them.

They equally practice and engage in White Supremacy/Racism.

You must engage in IR or sex with them - of have in the past -- Correct? If so, I understand your response.

He was a crazy dude, psychotic even. Also became a Republican after being the most militant out of all the Black Panthers.

Between Soul on Ice and Black Players, kinda learn how Black men in the street thought in the 60s and 70s. Every Black character on Soul on Ice was obsessed with White women and had this total disregard towards Black women and seeing that crazy sick man Eldridge Cleaver work through that at the end, I was tired. He wrote a nice apology for Black women, doesn't take back the rapes though - he still was a shytty person.

I realized that the kind of misogyny that Black men on the street practiced was because they knew Black had no economic value, because they themselves are Black and out hustling on the street - so how can anybody Black help them get out of the street? Cleaver said he raped Black women and girls for practice to rape White women. The pimps in Black Players did not want Black women because White women got them more money.

Kodak Black is in his early 20s, talking like how the Black characters in Black Players and Soul on Ice talked about women.

"I am already Black, I don't need a (darkskin) Black woman."

I think poverty and racism warps the minds of Black men out on the street. If you are always evaluating things in terms of dollars and value because you are trying to survive and get out of the streets, it's gonna make you not value Black people. You gonna end up hating White people and not valuing Black people.

All the Black men that stay in the streets need at least a decade of counselling by some nice and loving Black men and women that got compassion to work through that bullshyt.

I think we should focus on white men and their racism. White women are just following their lead.

White women are essential to racism.

Do you think it's the White men that pull their kids from integrated schools?

Do you think it's the White men that were teaching at the racist ass Sunday Schools?

Do you think it's the White men that are going around teaching out of these racist ass history books that says our slaves ancestors are immigrants?

Do you think it's the White men that are making these false police calls on Black males all these years?

White women were at the lynchings. White women are the ones that make the Klan outfits.

White women are equal in the project of White Supremacy, White men are just the ones that go kill us, but White women are maintaining the culture and maintaining the philosophy of White supremacy, just because they like to get fukked by Black men and have Black babies don't mean they aren't racist. White men have sex with Black women and have Black babies too.

And white women are the least punished people in the world. Let a white woman start crying. Even when she is wrong, everything has to stop, so she can feel better, and she usually gets away with it.

the media couldn't wait to go in on Kareem Hunt

they did a really good job hiding the fact that she was banging on his door and calling him a ****** and wouldn't go away

somehow all that came out of the story was that he put his hands on a woman
