NOT my thoughts and I'm aware of Darity's rule of thumb. Finished this stream a while ago.

It's an interesting discussion, even though I can't fully tell where they stand :mjtf:

Scott is actually white ADOS. His maternal great great grandmother was ADOS and his grandfather was a fair-skinned ADOS on both sides.

:ohhh:

He has ADOS lineage but won't qualify for Reparations as his family essentially became white.

there no white ados

u have to have a black ancestor who goes back to 1619.

and u also have to claim black in the last ten years.

yall can stop this
Back to 1619??? Bruh how the fukk black Americans trace they family back that far. Hell my mom and dads generation was the first ones who learned how to read. we celebrated my grandma/grandpa birthday at the end of december because they ain’t keep no records for nikkas, they didn’t even know their own birthdays.

edit: white ados??? Missed that part that’s some fake news I’m out this thread. They ain’t getting shyt.

do they talk about that through the whole vid? or is there a certain time they do

as for the subject: I go by the rule that was posted here that show. If you have a good portion of ADOS heritage and have been identifying as "black" you are ADOS

unfortunately i forgot who made those relegations. SMH

@saturn7 you know what they are?

edit: nvm saw your post its the darity rule

you're NOT "n!ggas"

Absolutely - the ADOS movement simply started as a way of identifying and networking among ourselves as well as counter the ECONOMIC discrimination African Americans have faced from not only whites but immigrants over the past 50 or so years.

reparations is a huge part of the political aspect of the movement, but the overall mission is for us to recognize, network, and build among ourselves.

if you look on the home page, the word reparations doesn't appear once:
About ADOS – #ADOS
I hear WHAT you're saying but it's still beyond me. I still don't understand what makes "ADOS" anymore transformative or what have you than "African American, Black, Negro, Colored, etc". For the majority of US history, those terms have applied exclusively to us.

And yes, I understand NOW there's black immigrants but just 2-3 years ago... when Supporting Black Owned Businesses took off, I guarantee you hardly anyone if at all advocating that was talking or includingg Africans and Caribbeans. It was already understood
