lol not even just on here, tho.. I seen people on KTT saying Cam and Fab are overrated..

if anything, neither of them get the credit or praise they deserves IRL... on the internet, yeah they gets it from hip hop heads.. but not really outside of it.

And I can't believe people are seriously putting Gucci on their list? You really struggling that hard?!

some people swear up and down that gucci is top 5 tho irl.

Tupac is the #1 Most overrated rapper ever his lyrics were trash, his flow was off beat, his storytelling was garbage his catalog is terrible his substance overrated public enemy and cube already dropped conscious songs with way better messages.Matw, thuglife and 7 day theory are the only decent albums he got the rest of that shyt is trash.nikkas worship that hypocritical fakkit like he's god when the truth is he was a basic ass rapper

"But he has emotion" :comeon:

lol at the explanation for rakim..wtf am I reading. Most of these new school rappers can only dream of having rakims skill.

Anyways Wayne is by far the most overrated. His hype isn't what it was cause of his laughable run post c3 but this is a guy that called himself the best rapper live so many times he actually brainwashed people to believe in that complete and utter bullshyt.

The only cat I am convinced was significantly overrated is 50 Cent.

With the exception of maybe Drake, 50 can't hang lyrically with anyone else mentioned in this thread.

Em, Jay, Nas, Cam, Jay Elec, Rakim, KRS, Pac and even Johnny Blaze would all **** all over 50. Yet this dude was hailed as the greatest think since Super Mario Bros for about 3 really annoying years in hip-hop. He was #1 on people's lists at the time.

Thankfully now he is :deadmanny:

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
not tot ake away any props from these guys,. a few of em are great mcs. but yea they are slightly overrated

jay z - like dude said before, almost has more albums than truly classic songs

eminem
- a GREAT rapper but is just overrated for being the white savior. holidays with my cousins = my reasoning. hearing dudes call eminem the goat is tiring

lil wayne
- average rapper. consistantly drops songs that are just punchlines where some are dope but na, you cant be a great rapping like that

joe budden
- dude is corny, his persona makes him completely un-listenable.. everyone i know in real life who digs budden is a fellow cornball

jcole
- dude is so boring it borders on medication equal to ambien. ima reccomend my doctor start giving out his mixtapes/cds instead of pills to help people get to bed

T.I
. - this guy does nothing for me. and seeing as how hes a snitch and a cornball on his tv show, he never will do anything for me

2pac
- halfhis songs are average and people fell in love with his antics/hoopla surrounding his death more than him himself. still a goat but hes rated highly for the wrong reason and biggie shyt all over him.

Nas
- during his prime i woulda put biggie, prodigy, half of wu, sticky fingaz, etc ahead of him as mcs. dude is boring. some of his albums got 1-2 classic tracks and the rest throwaways. at his best yea hes one of the best ever but if i had a choice i wouldnt choose him

dj premier not an mc but dude son here suck the dikk of anything hes made. dude has a lot of mediocre production. and seeing people compare his prime work to the rzas always irked me. in the 90s rza blew premier out the water. if it wasnt for guru, premier would be another producer who dropped a dope beat here and there for great rappers but his formula been played out for like 10+ years/even more and dude works with the most mediocre mcs known to man it seems.

and the most overrated of all time:

ANDRE 3000
- how a guy with no solo album get top 5 props. dude is extra long winded and is scared to drop a solo. hes top 50 at best. kast stans kill me with praising this dude.

honorable mention. half these new school rappers yall dikkride here daily. from odd future to action bronson. dudes drop a dope song every now and then , lets not get crazy thinking they hold any torches. i didnt add guys like snoop or busta because they are who they are. idk anyone who thinks they popping rappers. they just there to me, i dont think anyone actually rates them at all.

In no order

50 cent - after power of the dollar and GRODT he's been complete garbage
DMX - after the 1st album he fell off
Ja rule- I never understood how he got as big as he did
Nelly- same as Ja rule
TI- same as Ja rule and nelly
Lupe- I like him but he's very overrated on the Internet
Lil Wayne- I have never heard anything memorable from him
Drake- he'll always be corny to me
Gucci mane- when I first heard him I thought it was a joke or a parody
Mase- he had potential in the beginning but diddy ruined him

As far as Eminem, what you said is exactly why I called him overrated.:manny: He's consistently moved units and has been hailed as one of the greatest (if not the greatest) rappers of all time when, in my opinion, his material doesn't hold up to those claims. Yes, he dropped two classics (I think) early in his career but he released way more trash on a much more consistent basis since then. Eminem from 1999 - midway 2003 is not overrated...Eminem from the end of 2003 - present is horribly overrated. :patrice: That's a decade versus 3 and a half years. As far as Nas - I hate his voice. :manny: He has zero range and every emotion sounds the same. This is the reason why he can't convey any real feeling through his music, in my opinion. He sounds exactly the same talking about his best friend being shot as he does when talking about getting a blowjob. Is he happy, sad, angry, what? Now future, I really believe that what he does takes no talent at all. Simple as that. :yeshrug: Again, this is just my opinion. You're welcome to post your own list and provide your own reasons.

While I disagree with Em being overrated, your points are valid.

1.Eminem handsdown.....1 classic album and u got this ignorant fuks talkin like he a goat in this shyt:childplease:.....and the 1 classic is generous....it wuz classic bcuz I wuz amazed when I first hearrd it off his flow, haven't wanted to listen to it in about 13 yrs or more.

2.beastie Boys-:childplease: fuk outta here, seen them ranked higher than nwa and public enemy for godsake....not even top 10 groups in hiphop....no cism:whoa:

3.Andre 3K-until his scary azz put sum solo material out that ain't rnb and ain't garbage, and I see him in u boys top 5's.....he gon get this number 3 spot.

Prodigy-never amazed me lyrically and is very boring but I see him ranked highly often...."ooohhh ooh talked. That grimey talk" I don't see nuthin special.

Kanye-should never see him in goat convos...media been on his dikk too much for words, dude ain't made a album that lived up to his debut......I don't see Snoop in top 5's as much as Kanye and his catalogue better...and at his peak in the 90's he was the best rapper on the planet,in the 90's I repeat.

Camron-op is right, one hot album nikka ?while the rocafella chain wuz around his neck?what happened once the great production left?back to larry holmes status....who wuznt dropppin great albums on the roc:heh:?

Max B-he's right again, don't see the difference in max b and 50cent in his prime except 50 wuz a better rapper and had better hooks...yet 50 gets no recognition for whatever reason....and no I'm not a 50 stan but at least he ain't overated and he actually did have a impact.

Wutang collectively minus Meth-too much overated shyt about these nikkas to really go individual....I give em props bcuz they did have an undeniable impact....but I ain't tryna hear bout no ninja swords and karate chops....and overall they just came off as either wack, boring or corny as u go down the list of each member...again Meth is not included:whoa:

Ross-nikka been tryna remake modern day reasonable doubts for how many albums now?first off u from the south and a cop...second of all nikka just be rappin and don't have quotables....jay actually made u wanna hear what he wuz sayin and u hung on ever word:ohlawd:...listenin to ross u tune out halfway thru the verse and don't bother rewindin cuz u know u ain't miss nuthin.

DMX-nikka dropped 1 classic another solid album and got wack as dog shyt he raps about....by the 3rd album dude wuz just embarrasing to me with them corny forced prayers, pray on ya bed nikka, not in the studio.....yet I see him in top 10's regularly....don't worry ima pray for u:ufdup:

Biggie-he only goin on here cuz he's been called goat way too many times for lack of material combined with the lack of content...didn't consistently blow me away lyrically but u could see greatness in him....I also could see this nikka rhymin and soundin like Bill Cosby on sum songs soundin corny to me.
