While 50 may have revolutionized the mixtape scene, Gucci ran with it and is showing us today just how important it is in this internet age.

On the other hand, 50's albums generally fared better with the critics than did Gucci's, and 50 has undoubtedly been much more of a commercial success.

Both are the respective heads of their camps, have brought in numerous artists to the game, and have been in the game for roughly the same amount of time.

Both have had controversies from which they drew a lot and incorporated into their music (50 getting shot, Gucci's murder charge). Moreover, the two are certainly not scared of a publicized beef, and will rap about their beefs any chance they get.

Most importantly, both have a very solid fanbase on this site, and I'm very curious to see what The Coli thinks of this issue.

If you're curious, my vote goes to Guwop. :salute:

If you need a refresher, here are the complete lists for both:

people will be quoting 50 DECADES from now

Gucci is closer to that muppet than he is to 50
I don't run with the stale 50 jokes on here but..

I've listened to both their entire discographies over the years and Gucci Mane easily has more songs I can turn back to, may I even add... More diversity?!

@Guwop How's the list son?

@Monster Honestly... I don't know about people quoting 50 decades from now... I don't even know about people rocking with his style NOW. Gucci mane on the other hand birthed Migos, Chief Keef, Fetty Wap... countless others man... Just keeping it 100.

not talking about rocking with his style. i'm saying he has lines with so much depth, they inspire future generations.

style is a very open/loose term breh, which includes lines with "depth." and not too many rappers are quoting 50 these days sad to say bro, because i agree his best work is up there with the greats.

don't brush Gucci to the side though... you should check out "worst enemy" by him, i posted it in here. @the cac mamba you too... worst enemy is deep

:obama: got my respect. i'll try to cook up some "wow" type shyt from him lol

Edit: @the cac mamba

we're definitely comparing too very different dynamics here so i'll say that gucci's bounce/hype presence is = to or greater than 50's 01-04 run... i compare music a lot and it's all about the mood imo, who creates the atmosphere BEST. some people just do what 50 did at that time better, where as i hear some old gucci from certain eras and i just got to move. also to add, gucci's discography is as large as wayne and pac's....
