MJ has nothing to do with this convo. All I know is Duncan played with HOFers his entire career and with a HOF coach his entire career.
That's lazy breh. Duncan didn't have any teammates make All-NBA his first four title seasons, and in that 2003 title run none of his teammates were even close to all-star level. Here is Tim's #2 option every year during the 1999-2007 stretch where he won 4 of his 5 titles:
1999: 33yo D-Rob 16-10-2 on 51% shooting. No All-Star game that year.
No All-NBA besides Duncan.
2000: 34yo D-Rob 18-10-2 on 51% shooting. Made All-Star and 3rd-team All-NBA but Duncan got hurt
2001: 35yo D-Rob 14-9-1 on 49% shooting. Made All-Star and 3rd-team All-NBA
2002: 36yo D-Rob 12-8-1 and injured.
No All-Stars or All-NBA besides Duncan
2003: 20yo Parker 15-3-5 on 46% shooting.
No All-Stars or All-NBA besides Duncan
2004: 21yo Parker 15-3-5 on 45% shooting.
No All-Stars or All-NBA besides Duncan
2005: 22yo Parker 17-4-6 on 48% shooting, not All-Star. Manu surprise All-Star, 16-4-4 on 47% shooting.
No All-NBA besides Duncan.
2006: 23yo Parker averaged 19-3-6 on 55% shooting and made his first All-Star game.
No All-NBA besides Duncan.
2007: 24yo Parker averaged 19-3-6 on 52% shooting and made All-Star again.
No All-NBA besides Duncan.
In that 9-season stretch, Duncan never once had another 20ppg scorer on the team, and half the time he barely even had anyone over 15ppg. He never once had more than 1 teammate make the All-Star game, and from 2002-2004 he didn't have any All-Star teammates at all. The only years that entire time where he had a teammate make All-NBA were 2000-2001, which were a total waste anyway due to injuries to Duncan, Sean Elliott, and Derek Anderson.
In all four of his title seasons during that stretch he didn't have an All-NBA teammate. No one else in NBA history can say that they did that 4 times.
D-Rob was on that career tail from '99-'01 and after that he was just hurt. Ginobli is only a HOF for international, he had some good seasons after 2005 but no career 13-3-4 6th man with just 2 All-Star appearances to his name is getting HOF off NBA play. Toni Kukoc is in the HOF too, but do you hear people talking abou that '97 Bulls team having 5 HOF players like that? And Tony Parker legit but he got that rep off his 2006-2014 stretch, he was a scrub in '02 and from '03 to '05 he was just a good point guard but no special player.
Players like Russell, Wilt, Bird, and Magic actually played with legit All-Stars their entire career, Timmy was playing with a rather normal lineup for the first stage of his career when he had the most success
question who has been the better player over the last 6 years Lebron or KD?
KD finally passed Bron when Bron got hurt in 2019, but it's weird cause KD didn't play the next year while Bron had a fantastic season being the MVP runner-up and Finals MVP. Durant hasn't finished better than 5th in MVP voting since 2014. So you can't say KD definitively passed Bron until 2021.
