Norfeast groovin…
It was most likely a Laker. Prolly Wilt, Kareem, or Magic. Real shyt, only reason why Jordan is an undisputed GOAT is cuz he was the first small to dominate the league in such a fashion. His game was aesthetically pleasing to the eye and he was more marketable than those old clunky big men of the past.

without googling, the only one I know for sure is Villanova...can’t tell you the other two.

But what does that matter? What makes MJs college career the GOAT?
Villanova? Na breh.

The difference it makes is context. I'm not impressed by dominating Dan Obrovac, Ned Sharpenter, Rusty Clark and Jerry Johnson....or teams devoid of serious, nba ready talent.

But that's another thread. Let's not derail this one.

Mike came in, shut the door on the convo and never looked back. He's even the GOAT collegiate player:mjgrin:
Not even close. That's Kareem, his college resume shyts all over MJ's. 3 championships, 3 player of the year awards, 3 NCAA Final Four most outstanding player awards...He started the UCLA dynasty

A lot of people thought Bird was the GOAT after 1986, then Magic started building his case with his play in the late 80s

Kareem was probably the real GOAT before Jordan but he used to get overlooked when he was still playing. Older people gravitated towards Wilt/Russell, younger people gravitated towards Magic/Bird

MJ won the NCAA title as a freshman when he was the 3rd option on a team with Sam Perkins and James Worthy. He scored 6, 11, 15, 18, and 16 in his five tourney games. Perkins led the way in the semifinal game with 25 and Worthy led the way in the championship game with 28.

The rest of his college tourney career was just a string of L's.

Upset in the 2nd round of the ACC tourney by NC State
Upset in the 3rd round of the NCAA tourney by Georgia
Upset in the 2nd round of the ACC tourney by Duke
Upset in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney by Indiana

In the final game of his college career he was 6-14 for 13 points in an upset loss to Indiana, when North Carolina had an entire roster of 1st-round NBA talent and Indiana had nobody.

Didn't even make an ACC tourney semis or an NCAA Final Four in his last two years of college and that's supposed to be the GOAT college career?

It seems there was no real consensus.

Michael May have been the first “universally known” GOAT in the nba.
