Those aint bad either.
My point is, there aren't any box score #s to accurately measure one's defensive impact. Even if we took Hakeem's historically-high block averages (and steals too), it still doesn't really paint a clear enough picture of how much impact he had on that end. Taking into account both sides of the floor is paramount when comparing big men.

What about durability? Malone played nearly every game in the 90s and averaged about 27/10 throughout.

Hakeem missed quite a few games.

Hakeem missed quite a few games.
Again, it would only factor into it if he had the same or similar impact, or if there's a significant margin between the games they played which held Hakeem back from being mentioned in this conversation in the first place - I mean it's not like he's Penny. From '90-'97 he only had ONE season where he played less than 70+ games.
