Depending on where it was. They could be balling by now. I remember UPS was starting nikkas at $8.00 , but you got like a shyt ton of raises. People was there making $30 an hr. with free health care and tuition reimbursements if they chose to go to school. Can't always laugh at the starting wage.
@DEAD7 and this is why the minimum wage Argument is flawed

Worked my way up, now I run a few of them.

The ops are so hit or miss with some companies. But if you get in with the right one, the work can be easy and routine, pay good without a degree.

I started at UPS...they are hit or miss depending on the operation and shift...some nights I went home drenched in sweat, others I read so many damn books on I could fill a small book shelf.

I've worked as a manager in others and put in so many hours, my employees made damn near as much as me with overtime.

Now I run about 11 warehouses remotely for a big company. Decent pay, busy as fukk, but I knew that going in. I'm strictly here for the title and experience because I can go anywhere after this and be a director for a smaller company, less work, and damn near double the money.

It'll get easier man, much easier trust me. If you're just starting your body's gotta get used to moving all them boxes. It'll get you in shape doing it too, I remember losing weight and gettin muscle when I was do

Layer the fuuck up in the winters. I'm talking like 2 or 3 pairs of long johns & like 5 pairs of socks & like 2 face masks to keep that cold air from getting in
Hopefully I won't be working there for another 7 months. Real shyt

I worked at a warehouse as security. It seemed kick back. Put your music on pick out items, box them up, and rack up overtime. I'm sure people were stealing shyt too, so you get free stuff.

Yeah very true. The starting wage isn't the best but with them you can get those benefits. :blessed: And then you could always get internal job advancements. The school thing only works for management now.
Regularly smashing one of the mere two or three 'fukkable' chicks that work with you at the warehouse who get simped daily by every male there including management, though?

Priceless :banderas:
Kendra I miss you :mjcry:

Lol, that's cause it's a male dominated industry. It's like 9 male dock workers or male supervisors to 1 female dock worker/supervisor.

Yeah. When it's all you have to get money I didn't mind it at all. It's a good learning experience to show yourself that you will be doing it forever without some form of education. When ever I get down at school work or anything I do got the good pay I make now I think back at that shyt and say. This ain't that bad.

Time still went by slow with music for me. 8 hours loading containers, wrapping pallets, unloading trucks, boxing orders, pulling orders. To me that shyt was miserable. And the worst part about it is when the cracker or uncle Tom bosses came out of their offices to tell you what to do next. You're working hard as fukk for chump change while they're in their office on the computer sitting on their ass making more money than you while you go home tired as fukk everyday.

That shyt turned me into a 4.0 student in college. When I was in high school I thought a warehouse job would be cool because I knew cats that had them. That shyt is the worst. Get you any kind of degree to avoid that life brehs.

Real shyt breh

My parents have been working at the same factory for almost 15 years only making like 14 dollars an hour

I can barely hold a factory job for a few weeks because I hate it:damn: I can't even imagine working there for 15 years :wow:

I'm just trying to graduate as soon as possible from college to help my parents

That's the thing when you have kids, you have to do things you might not want to do in order to provide for them. You probably don't have any so you have the option to quit like I did. If I had kids I would've had to stay in it.

I recently just a second full time job as a janitor contracted to work in a pharmaceutical warehouse. It's weird, it's a lot of work but very easy so my day breezes on by thankfully. Like many others said, it's the managers that make it negative. Their's this one maintenance manager who is constantly checking up on work we done or got something to bytch about.

Worked at one for the area newspaper for a month. Moving ads and newspapers onto pallets, OK hours. Wasn't bad but wasn't that great either.

I was lucky enough to get a new job a month in working there because it was right when the CAC managers were starting to get on my nerves :whew:

I've worked at Fed Ex Ground, Walgreens distribution center, Target distribution center and CVS distribution center. If you can get a warehouse job driving forklift or order picker, it can be easier to cope with the environment but loading trucks is a motherfukking bytch, I've had to load multiple trucks at a time, hopping from truck to truck then boxes start backing up on the belt and alarms start going off, that shyt can make a man go crazy.
