When carmelo was out and JR was on the knicks i watched him drop damn near 40 and come back from being down 20 vs the kings

Does McHale fit the bill? He played in 971 games, 400 as a starter.

Detlef Schrempf, Manu Ginobili, Ricky Pierce are candidates. But perhaps J-Craw is a better choice since he spent more time than them on the bench.

Havlicek is often considered as the GOAT 6th man tho
