his top five is his. Kelly was a great qb. but just like Marino, it just wasn't in the cards for him to a Superbowl. Kelly is probably going to be underappreciated because he didn't win the big game though.
I love Kelly, but he folded in the playoffs. Lifetime 20 td to 28 int ratio
Im goona do my top 5 most underrated/underappreciated
1. Len Dawson
2. Ken Anderson
3. Fran Tarkenton
4. Brad Johnson
5. Joe Theismann
Great talents who were hindered by their era
1. Troy Aikman
2. Steve McNair
3. Roger Staubach
4. Tony Romo(I know he played like 5 years in this era, but if he is drafted in 2013 as opposed to 2003, he puts up some scary numbers, he is more durable and with the easier defenses, he likely doesnt form some of the bad habits that he did.
5. Carson Palmer same summary for Romo applies. Supreme arm talent who gets forgotten. Herbert is almost identical to him, mechanically. Was on a potential HOF trajectory before his knee injury. Still recovered and had a tremendous resurgence in Arizona. Finishing tied 2nd in MVP voting in 2015

Ooooh Aikman is a good one. I see a lot of people say he’s not a HOFer because of his basic stats. But
1. He played in an era where qb’s were still getting hit and concussed.
2. He didn’t play in a West Coast offense. But even then he was so accurate.
3. The Cowboys offense was run first. And they used Emmitt Smith a lot in the red zone.
4. In his prime the postseason he upped his game. And against great defenses.

You summarized that perfectly. Was proven tough, mentally and physically. Vertical offenss..lots of seams, deep posts, comebacks and deep outs. Irvin/Harper always had high yard per receptions. Emmitt took so many of his td and Aikman only played like 10 or 11 years worth of games. Like you said, he was a primetime performer. Extraordinary play vs the Redskins, Bills, 49ers and Packers.
