I never understood why some shops take pride in lacking professionalism.

Nobody's asking them to cac up the place. Just take customer service more seriously.

It's not a black thing. I've had emergency cuts in DR shops and its the same if not worse.

Its funny that there are so many complaints. I have a barber that cuts me in his apartment but when he's not available I always make an afternoon of it at my backup place. A Black barbershop is supposed to be a safe space for Black men to vent and palaver within the company of their own. It is what it is.

And yeah I feel OP but I always figured it's because of the service nature and culture of the profession...

Them nikkas gotta hustle and have they fingers in 10 different "revenue" streams and they just don't have to be professional period.

It's almost like they brand themselves to be as unprofessional as possible

That small scale Master P type of grind....at least provide QUALITY into any service you provide

It's actually common for this era. There is one or two more places just like this. They have the standard barbershop pool table and TV, its just the cut comes with complimentary shyt.

A barber I used to go to one time left in the middle of a haircut just to go grab a laptop charger from his car , like is that really necessary?


And when I was young I was waiting for 30 minutes, when its finally my turn one of his boys came in and bumped me in line and both of em didnt even care to acknowledge me.


I'm glad that place got shut down tho, shop was always dirty and they didnt seem professional.


The new guy I go to has his own appointment schedule and if hes too busy he got other barbers on deck that do an amazing job, and the shop is always kept clean. It's a home like environment

I mean you're supposed to say something in that situation
