Twice I've had a 4 hour long interview where I did assessments and interviewed with 3 different people in one day. Talk about exhausting. Then they took weeks to respond to applicants. I actually got a offer for one but passed becasue I got another gig by the time they responded and they pay was comparable to the offer I had already accepted. The other one I was a finalist but didnt get the position. I hate interviews and the whole process so anything more than 2 interviewes is crazy to me.

Just advise you are better off learning solid tech skills that are in demand. I do feel like competition for non tech skills (except medicine) probably go through this ish worse
Nah I'm an electrician. One interview, and 95% of the time they hire you on the spot. There's a joke in building trades that if I get fired on Wednesday, I'll take the long weekend and go get a job Monday and do my orientation and go back to work Tuesday. I'd laugh in a companies face if they tried to string me along for 3 interviews, fukk I look like? Do you know how many jobs there are out here? :mjlol:

The twisted thing they've usually already decided to hire internally. But like to do one or two interviews externally as well.

So I was working as a contractor at a very big games company for just under a year, manager comes to my desk one day and says let's go for a walk, basically asks me what my career plans look like and I'm I looking to grow within the company? I do want to stay, its a dope ass company and what I'm working on is amazing.

He says get your resume brushed up with your experience here and ready to go. Their are opportunities coming up.

Three weeks later, job ad goes up on a Friday afternoon and I apply immediately, job ad comes down the following Wednesday.

But I already got my interview invite on the Monday morning for that thursday. Interview goes well, I do a HR interview the following Monday. Also goes well. By the end of that week I get an offer of a fulltime role on the team.

I do wonder if I was an external hire how many interviews I would have had to do?

This job and my previous ones have all come from recommendations from people working there already. Sad to say sometimes as a breh you need those co-signs.

But once you in, you in.

Because people are so quick to quit a job. They are trying to weed out who really wants the job.
Bullshyt

If someone is quick to leave a job, they weren't told the truth about what the job is so they bailed, the same way a company would fire them if they lied about their experience and got caught.

This is just HR people trying to prove they're doing something. Last job I had where multiple interviews was a thing, I realized like 8 of the people I spoke to had absolutely nothing to do with me or my job and we never had to interact for anything at work.

Then what the hell was the point of including them in the interviews? HR was trying to spread out accountability for the hire + those department heads themselves just wanting a break from work during the day

So much of this interview stuff is disingenuous, when it really should just be:

It really doesn't make sense. The entire point of a rigorous hiring process is to increase job retention; finding the right person for the job. Employers today don't give a shyt about job retention, so its just, "Employment Masturbation" for HR departments.

my girl got a job last year that made her do a 3 page assignment, and then before she was officially hired she had to do these security trainings, all in all it was about 4 hours of her time. She was desperate so she stayed quiet, i was on the sidelines like: you know they should be paying you for this right? :birdman:
How is the job though? Does she like it? I often automatically think the people and the job suck when they have these dumb ass assessments.

The level of competition is higher than before , in part due to influx of immigrants , there are more qualified folks so companies can choose the best of the best and filter out those who are good but not the top of the group or level, so yeah its primarily competition

The road to six figures ain’t no joke
Had a 5 hour interview with several people for raising canes and they wanted you to work a week in the restaurants “so you can make better decisions with the stores in mind” :hhh:

Another I did had 4 interviews for this consulting spot .. got all the way to the end and once the director saw my black ass in the last interview it was a wrap

Interviews to be a Financial analyst for Burger King .. the fukk these nikkas gave me homework and to analyze their numbers for the last couple years .. said fukk that!

Now looking for a new job and I’m hoping it’s a 3 interview than at most

ATL, but rasied in DMV
This is all new news to me. I had no idea people were going on more than three job interviews. At least nobody is also suggesting you still send recruiters a "Thank you for considering me" letter, after they rejected you on three interviews. Even the recruiters saw something wrong with that; it was probably giving them more work to do by throwing away your letter.
