How is it hard to comprehend some people simply don't feel like it? lol

Industrialized society chews people up and spits them out. I've been working 65 hrs a week for years and I hate it. I just can't really opt out at this point and I'm stuck at the moment.

The grind is endless especially when you see the diminishing returns of going hard at a career with retirement options dwindling and drying up and wages stagnating. Some folks would rather enjoy the time they have available now than hold out for the long game of "work hard now to work less later" because the adage may not actually hold true throughout the coming decades.

In this day and age there's higher and higher expectations. Work full time + overtime, be self sufficient, educated, exercise regularly, keep up with current events and politics, be socially intelligent, financially literate, and more.

Then when you're :flabbynsick: status you get hit with "you didn't prioritize quality sleep and your diet wasn't healthy enough. You never made time to meal prep?"

I'm not saying that the perspective is right or wrong or that I could adopt it, personally. But I can empathize.

The suburbs
Because the younger generation has figured out through hearing and watching the older generation work long hours and wish they enjoyed life more and worked less. There's a balance
This makes no sense.
I never met a successful hard worker especially someone over 50 that encouraged anyone to work less
