What's wrong with the music he's making now?

and what exactly is "normal" music?

What yall want him to go back to rapping about getting caught in the center of "black on black crime" over trap beats?

Its one thing if your not a fan of Kendrick, thats great. But to say he's not making normal music anymore? Thats when you lost me
TPAB was an extension of Section 80 and it was the album Kendrick always wanted to make. He just didn't have enough confidence or the budget back then to pull it off. On Section 80, he tapped into Jazz but didn't push the envelop far enough and kept it subtle. On TPAB feeling more confident about his abilities, more ambitious with a bigger budget & push he's ever had, bringing the sounds he had on Section 80 back mixing up with a funkier groove and more live instrumentation...this is what you get.
Truth be told, it was out of my rotation for months & months before Untitled Unmastered dropped. But once I went back to it, I enjoyed it more than I did previously and it still holds up. Its one of those albums, you discover a new nugget every single time you go back to it and I don't think its meant to be played like that. Thats what makes it so unique. Just because you haven't listened to something in a long time doesn't mean its wack. Honestly, alot of the current music thats hot right now wouldn't age as well as TPAB even if it has more replay value.
I look at current music as fast food. Its quick n easy to make, taste good, but its also not good to consume on a daily basis. I look at TPAB as sorta like a Thanksgiving meal or something. The food is well prepared, took a long time to make it, taste good, gets you full, but it only comes around once a year. Now that might be a weird analogy and yes I'm thinking about food lol but thats how I see it. At some point, you gotta grow as an artist, push yourself and continue to raise the bar high. Kendrick's has grown into a musician thats larger than life now. Just look at his live performances now...everything is getting bigger and I wanna see how far he can go.
