if footballers are getting concussions what the fukk an up and coming boxer look like wanting to be looking like ali :stopitslime:

yeah but at least in boxing you have a chance to defend yourself

in football at any random moment it can be wrap, and you take way more punishment playing football over the course of season let alone a career, have you seen what happens to these guys when they get older they're just as bad and worst than boxers in most cases

also ali has a disease besides freddie roach there's no house hold name who has it in boxing

michael j fox has the same disease and never fought

Boxing is a pillow fight compared to what NFL players put their body through

i'd rather be a 50 year old former football player, than a 50 year old former boxer.

But to answer the question...it's because basketball and football are much faster tracks to stardom, and to making good money.

Rep for mentioning baseball, it's crazy how easily people forget that was THE black sport. I think the powers that be pushed us out... Baseball was, and was always intended to be (White) America's pastime, they weren't having it when a bunch of negros tried to intrude :comeon: At the same time the negro leagues were caking in their own respect, so they allowed us in and slowly deferred to the dominicans and cubans. Competition was eliminated and a source for outside talent was regulated to their liking :ehh: meanwhile, basketball and football blew up... just open season for nikkas. If you were balling, they had a spot for you. Sure enough, we forgot all about the game :manny:

Stop it breh... The Negro Leagues were NOT caking at all.... teams/leagues were constantly starting up and folding....and players didn't make shyt.

And nobody pushed blacks out of baseball, but blacks themselves....Blacks stopped playing baseball because football and basketball gave them faster tracks to a better life... the decline of blacks in baseball is in direct relation to the rise in blacks in the NFL and NBA.

that might've been one of the dumbest conspiracy posts ever.

Word, breh? Basketball and football had no culture to them and were flooded in the same era that we couldn't drink from the same fountains or go to the same school. Hell was raised before Jackie Robinson finally joined. Who broke the color barrier for basketball and football? Why isn't their story known too?

Because they heard how ex-boxers sound talking on television interviews.

Yeah but the football players who are the same age, we never here or see from to compare the damage on their brain from the years
all the ex football players on TV are still young

Tommy hearns sounds bad but Ray Leonard doesn't

James Tony sounds bad but he also had slurred speech even in the early 90's

same with Evander, and both guys fought well beyond their primes

Roberto Duran is still very rich when most Football players are broke just a few years from being out the game

Bernard Hopkins is damn near 50 and he a world champ, that's greater than anything any football player has ever done
and he is fine

It's horror stories in all contact sports, doesn't make one riskier than the other

Mike Tyson more sane now than he was when he was fighting

The drought is mainly in heavyweights, because big athletic guys get scouted as kids soon as they have a growth sport, they are preyed upon and swarmed on, and also most neighborhoods do not have boxing gyms

if Lebron James was from cincinatti instead of akron he might have been the next heavyweight champ

It's like you're too dense to get that you really just posed that :

A) the Negro leagues were caking.... anybody who's read anything about the Negro Leagues knows this isn't true and is a flat out lie.

B) That in the 40's "The powers that be" conspired to let blacks into the MLB , just to kill the league...and then favor latino's and then systematically force blacks out to have them existing in the MLB at single digit %'s in 2014.

But yeah, pre 1964 the NBA and NFL were FLOODED with blacks......:rudy:

I'm about to go to sleep but come on breh, at least articulate your points :heh: maybe negro leagues weren't caking, big deal, the point is we had our own and white owners helped to eliminate that and divert our interests to completely different sports altogether in which they had knowledge and control. And as owners, they have the power to draft players as they choose, whether that's based on prejudices or blatant intentions. For example, why are their so many Samoans,in particular in the NFL? The island's population is +250k TOTAL and yet, they're 40 times more likely to enter the NFL than a kid here in America-- we're a population over 300 MILLION :dead:

You're talking as if the way things are now are how they've always been. Baseball was black america's favorite sport for over a century and the nba didn't allow dunking until 1975 :comeon:
