Where else do Haitians snd Jamaicans come into contact dumbass
:snoop: You're such a clown. When people talk about a nations people they're not talking about expats, or X generations removed in another country.

If someone says "English people do this", they don't mean English people in the Bronx.

Even if you meant Jamaicans in America, I have never heard of them "hating Haitians".

I dont know why people dislike my country. I always have friction with Jamaicans in particular. I dont have an accent so they be cool, but as soon as a Jamaican person finds out im haitian its like they put a mark on me. Jamaican lady just made me lose my job back in December and we were cool before then. She assumed i was jamaican for whatever reason. When I corrected her and told her im haitian all hell broke loose.

And here we have someone themselves who is Haitian saying otherwise. I have no clue why Jamaicans in this thread are lying their asses off. They may not go day to day with dissing Haitians but when the topic of Haitians does come up....if Jamaicans dont make a corny voodoo joke they will say something ignorant as fukk. Im not Haitian, im a yankee but my maternal family is all jamaican...and i live in a neighborhood that is mixed but there is a heavy haitian community throughout the neighborhood.

So while growing up when your at school, at the supermarket or just in a taxi if you come across someone black and they are haitian they will ask the "Do you speak creole" question..i never have a problem with it. i mean common sense says if it is a neighborhood with alot of black people and many are haitians your gonna wonder if a black person is the same nationality as you. but ive come across black americans and jamaicans who talk about they are "offended" :mjlol: or say shyt like "do i look haitian"..

one of my cousins was visiting last year from jamaica and said some straight up ignorant shyt. told me when she was walking with her son, a black person asked if she was haitian and she was talking about how she was caught off guard . then i explain to her about the community having many haitians.

she tells me she has alot of haitian friends and then goes into some white supremacist ignorant style of talking by mentioning how "alot have bad body odor" ...and tells me "she thinks it has to do with the type of body oils they use". I mean :dahell: :mindblown: ive heard black people say this stupid shyt before. know another guy who said the same thing about south africans. people like her claim to have 'friends" who are and if they run into one haitian in 20 years they generalize haitians by that one person who had something bad about them.

i mean its so damn ignorant. and jamaicans in this thread are gonna lie when i know the truth. you dont go as hard on haitians as dominic00ns but you still use them as a punching bag as others do.

can you go into detail about how she reacted when you said you were haitian?

This video sums it up. Before the coli goes further with the lies about how this is news to them

my favorite coli members are the ones that say that dumb shyt about how joking and ragging on someone is what we do as black americans and they never truly had issues with haitians :camby:

i never got how people can act surprised when a light skinned person says they are haitian.

I think it depends on the person. There are good Haitians and bad ones like everywhere. I have heard of a rivalry between Haitians and Jamaicans but don't know the true meaning or seriousness. I think Haitians are looked at negatively over here and it might be a language issue. Jamaicans speak English and Haitians mostly speak Creole with very little English understanding. So they might be seen as slower. Plus their country isn't as advanced so when they come here it's seen as a culture shock and they have trouble adjusting at first but once they do it's easier. Working in retail I've dealt with Haitians that make me go :snoop: and some that are really good and nice people. You hear a lot of negativity about Haiti and their people but deep down they're not all bad people. Maybe someone that is Haitian can inform me more tho. I'm assuming that a U.S. Born one would have different experiences than an immigrant.

Been in Europe (Belgium, Italy, France) for 20 years and never heard any specific hate towards Haiti. TBH there aren't that many people of Haiti here anyway so I guess they're not really on the radar to be hated :yeshrug:

I guess this thing is mostly regional/age based.

Where I grew up(East Orange, NJ), I've never heard of Jamaican/Haitians beefing. The islanders usually was cool with one another. In my area Haitians and Jamaicans were tight as far as I'm concerned. Africans/Haitians/Jamaicans/Guyanese etc were pretty much cool with each other. Even some of the spanish dudes. Might differ depending on age/location.
