Why Do People Hate Haiti/Haitians ?

Besides the news, which Hollywood movies have depicted Haiti or it's people? As it relates to vodoo, New Orleans is referenced more in Hollywood than Haiti.

Some Haitians have inferiority complex about themselves.

That is rare...I've never met a haitian with an inferiority complex. I've seen and heard plenty ethnicities pick fun of themselves and their people. Zoes dont do that and they keep their community dirt air tight..Damn near all Haitian people I've come in contact with are dignified with a touch of that french snobbery. At worst the older and elder Haitians be on that "you bush people" type shyt to black non haitians

I'm Dominican and got nothing but love for Hatians. I got fam in DR and they treat them the same.
I'm assuming if Dominicans are hating on Hatians it's probably the poorer Dominicans upset that Hatians are crossing the border and taking their jobs
It's a similar situation here with illegal Mexicans who are willing to work for below minimal wage

From my experience, the Haitians that I've met in college and in professional life, do better than all other caribbean groups. They are generally more wealthier and powerful than Dominicans/PR/Bahamians..etc.

You can't always make generalizations.

Some Jamaicans/AAs/Dominicans think poorly of Haitans but most don't. Same goes for every other group relations in the world

Only dominic00ns hate them, mostly because of past conflicts between the two countries, c00nish mentality directly inherited by spanish colonial attitudes and Trujillo's regime who was notoriously anti-black.

The other nations dont hate them per se, they usually don't care about Haiti, but they look down on Haiti because of the extreme poverty and chaos in this country. It's convienient to hate people who are perceived as inferiors.

I'm of Jamaican parentage and I've had to correct a lot of ignorant Jamaicans for their complete ignorance. Case in point the "natural" disasters that have hit Haiti - on FB in particular there's always some dumb ass talking about how god is "punishing" Haiti for voodoo and has "saved" Jamaica....as if Jamaica doesn't suffer other afflictions that could easily be pointed out and last I checked for an island that has more churches per square mile than anywhere else on earth, white jeebus doesn't really seem to give a fukk about Jamaica either. Yet these same folks were the first to pray for France. The utter stupidity is just staggering.

I'm in england so I haven't really encountered many Haitians like that although every other island is here.

I wish some of them fine ass Haitian women I've encountered in the states were here though.

Having a Jamaican family you see this shyt right up hand and its just cringeworthy. first of all i can be negged or called out or whatever but jamaican men are especially hilarious because they cant even keep their own woman from getting out of pocket but they are gonna talk down on Haitians. like sort out your home first.

And jamaicans also gotta chill with the morality shyt about "God punishing Haiti for voodoo" while out here DAGGERING married women, skin bleaching and killing gay men because they dont like what you like :cmeon:
