I think it’s a slick way of getting you uncomfortable, I think it’s common sense to know if a person isn’t speaking up much it’s for a reason. They probably shyt test us just to see how our attitude might change cause they said that. They stay gauging us.

Cacs like to play dumb at work.All races to be honest. Bottom line is they know when you are quiet, it's common sense that you are not feeling them. So it's more of who the hell does this guy thinks he is not wanting to socialize with us.

These Cacs claim they don't want to be associated with us, but if it's a "safe place" They expect us to cater to their social needs. I remember telling this white broad at work, that why are you so worried about me? If I didn't work here and was walking down the street, you would cross the street. This is in broad daylight. She didn't say anything but have a stupid look on her face cuz she knew it was true.

Exactly. Some solid info, but in most cases just as I said before. They be the most fukked up places to work. You have all these social butterflies, but they don't know how to do the job efficiently or at all. Thus why places like that work long hours and usually have poor communication when doing projects.

Where do you work? Because most jobs have corny socially awkard people who only talk so much at work because you can't tell them to fukk off. Are you one of those people? Because I work in corporate, aint too many people I wanna kick it with at all. The few that I do, the corny people stay trying to be in our convos.

i've seen this in person. you be straight bantering with people online, they throwing out all kind of punchlines and comebacks. then you meet them in person and they are weirdos who don't say more than a few words.

Like you need to fukking pay me more, and maybe then I won’t be miserable.

She wasn't shyt with a kid to top if off though so I had nothing to speak about with her anyway tbh

On a side note I realize I hate the passive aggressiveness that come with working some jobs so I stay out of all that shyt and mind my business. I might give a little hello or how was your weekend but no big talking from me. I'm just not into the small talk with those kind of people and it's not really my thing anyway. Most of those people are fake as fukk and will smile in your face joking but stab you in the back so fast, they like to play pretend and I've even seen them talk shyt about people the moment they walked away with not even a minute passing by. It's crazy!

Last job I worked at the people there were also clicky which I found weird as hell too. Anyone else have to deal with little cliques and separation among groups in their job? I mean people worked together when needed but their were clear cliques of people who just stayed together.

When it comes down to it, I can see the arguments from both sides.

Yes, we as black people are judged more harshly for being reserved in a work environment if we’re not over the top with our antics.

However, in the corporate world, you will not advance unless you’re friendly and social with your staff. That’s just how the world works. The guy who gets the highest sales/contracts is not necessarily going to get promoted.

The guy who has average sales but is loved by everyone, who keeps the staff motivated and gets involved in all the activities outside of work, will easily progress up the ladder.

We’re Black so there’s already one strike against us. Who do you think they’re going to hire? The quiet reserved black guy who’s the best when it comes to numbers but doesn’t hang out after work for drinks.

Or the white guy who they can relate to more, hang out with and be pals with?

It’s a bitter pill to swallow but that’s the world we live in. Hence why I’m my own boss. I knew I’m not the person to kiss ass and give a fukk about how somesone’s day has been so I never expected to advance far in the corporate world.

Great point, that's why I feel I have to be my own boss one day too. Working most jobs just kill me fam and I'm gonna try to be a little more social for the sake of chemistry in the work place going forward but that's just not me

I'm pretty quiet at work, although I feel dumb about it because one of my ex coworkers was legit one of the baddest chicks I've ever met in my life and she talked to me all the time...and I just took it as her just amusing herself by seeing if she can get on my nerves by making me talk

Just because someone don't talk to people at work, don't mean someone doesn't have a social life. Maybe, I just choose to not be involved with the bullshyt that be going on all the time at work, maybe I just don't wanna hear all that drama nonsense that sound like straight to the dumpster reality tv shows, maybe I don't wanna holla at any of the women at work, because they either not my type, got too much going on or they're already taken, and maybe I don't want you talking to me, because I don't feel like talking that day.
