I thought it was because he was a bum on the couch for years and was more concerned about getting his "going no where" company going than actually helping more and being more productive. Also, he got very lax in the relationship and even forgot her birthday.
I have no problem with Lawrence though, but I probably would not stick with a guy who sits on the couch all the time (for years) and then when he finally gets a job offer, he almost decided to stay on the couch or at Best Buy.

We dislike Lawrence b/c he a reminder of a negro that wasted our damn time.
We dislike Lawrence’s b/c he’s one of those dudes who think that they are top quality just b/c they don’t have a record or a baby. He was the epitome of a bum dude sitting on Issa’s couch for two whole damn years! Yet y’all drag Issa for being a bum for a few weeks.
We dislike Lawrence b/c he is a constant reminder that our community believes all a black man has to do is be faithful while failing at all other accounts of a partnership. In return, he should be cherished & we should sacrifice our emotional stability to support him, while simultaneously not getting any of our needs met.
We dislike Lawrence b/c he is a selfish & passive agressive male. And btw, being passive agressive is not a masculine trait.
We dislike Lawrence b/c he’s the complete opposite of Daniel. Daniel was there for Issa when she needed him. Daniel was upfront about how he felt with Issa. Daniel told Issa about herself (although very harshly), which partially led her to confront her fears. Issa has treated Daniel like crap though. And they shouldn’t have started their “relationship” with cheating.

As I asked above how was he a bum when he paid half of the rent? He obviously was contributing or else Issa wouldn’t have been forced to move out after their break up. You’re right about him being passive aggressive though yet wrong about him not caring and being there for her.

How can you pay half the rent without a job? How can you pay half the rent even with a part time job...in LA? That’s not realistic.
Lawrence may have paid the $15 house phone bill...on a good day. I wouldn’t be surprised if Issa or his parents were taking care of the gas/car either. That is typically how it happens in real life in real life. I’ve seen this happen without friends.

I used to watch Insecure with my ex and you can learn a lot from watching that show with a woman. Like if they justified Issa cheating on Lawrence, if your girl does that instead of thinking Issa was a slut then you should leave her ASAP.....trust me.

Didn’t we get introduced to Tasha because he was depositing checks at the bank? Didn’t she say he had a nice savings? If he wasn’t paying anything why did she have to move after he left her? If he was a broke bum how would he have been able to buy an engagement ring so soon after getting a new job?
