Why do you all think black women hate the character Lawerence on the show Insecure so much?

Them other nikkas gave her nothing but dikk. Daniel might've got that house from his grandparents and that makes him a better man because let her sleep on the couch while fukking other bytches in his room? She fukking nikkas on the street without even getting a formal date yet Lawrence was the bad guy?

Don’t forget that he also turned down Tasha who was throwing them cheeks at him, while Issa was given it up to Daniel AFTER she aired her issues out with Lawrence.

Oh and for people saying he had no money. He had a savings account and you can stay on unemployment for 99 weeks. So he had to have been unemployed for under 2 years.

Additionally, while I don’t think quitting a new gig is a good idea, he was going to quit to work on an app. How is that worse than being a Sound Cloud producer?

Lawrence had a very low balance in his account, per his convo with Tasha, so exactly how was he depositing enough money to pay the rent. He was unemployed & living with his girlfriend for two years. No one gets severence pay for two years unless they’ve worked for 10+ years. Lawrence, on the show, admitted that he had to swallow his pride to work at Best Buy so he was definitely down on his luck the entire time. All that being said, where is Lawrence getting all this money to pay half the rent? Giving blood? Giving sperm? Can someone give me a realistic answer as to how this is possible?

Furthermore, Lawrence is the same guy who was thinking about quitting a job he just obtained, to work on Woo Woo. Mind you, we find out later that his Woo Woo idea was an outdated concept. Why did he think it was acceptable to consider quitting a job he just obtained, thus placing all of the daily adult responsibilities on Issa again? Does he think that he is too good to work on projects on the side while he earns a living like most people? Is this the train of thought aligned with a man that is ready to lead a household?

And for the record, I rarely agree with any decisions that Issa has made thus far.

I mean financially he was struggling because he had a dream and yeah it faltered no man worth his salt wants to work at best buy...but he did.... Do they? I've talked about Insecure multiple times with black women and the opinion seems mixed.
Honestly more women i've talked to disliked Issa's character than Lawrence.

Small sample size but I can only speak about what i've seen in real life

This is my experience as well. Every woman knows Issa fukked up and most readily admit that. That doesn’t fit the narrative OP is trying to create though.

Issa and Lawrence just weren't meant for each other.

2 passive aggressive people who weren't in tune with each other's passions. Whenever they going through tough times, they'll pull away into their own little worlds instead of really communicating and solving the problem.

Issa was already done with that nikka by the time he got focused.

I find it interesting that people are speculating what he did and giving him the benefit of the doubt...where in the show did he say he was using his savings to help them financially? After he left, the only reason Issa could not afford that apartment was because they raised the rent...so...
