He got his shyt together while he was with her. He left after he found out she cheated. I think that’s the 1 thing that kills them. Dude was faithful the entire time. The minute he got it together, what did he do? He took her ring shopping.

What's up with you cats that need sympathy for every little thing that goes on in your life? If you're not getting the job done, you'll lose the job. That's incentive to not sit on a fukking couch and lick your wounds for months (YEARS!) at a time and shyt; when you take an L, you stand up and get back to work. If not, don't cry when the rest of your life falls off as well. That goes for women, employment, anything; there's nothing respectable about a man not manning up.

Watched the first episode with my girl at the time and had the same reaction. She was checking my reaction the whole time.I tried to watch two episodes of it with my girl and had to throw it in the bushes

It's hard to think about or focus on somebody else when you're fighting depression (as Issa alluded to him having during their big fight in season 2). That's probably why it took Issa calling Lawrence out for him to try and break through. Which saw him going on that Rite Aid/Walgreens shopping spree to try -- albeit fail -- to salvage her birthday and ultimately him swallowing his pride to get his shyt together to save their relationship after he understood had spent so much time being trash, unmotivated, and basically a shytty spouse.
At least he acknowledged that he hadn't been shyt as a boyfriend and tried to get right.
Unfortunately, Issa had already fukked it up by the time Lawrence was being the dude she expected him to be.
I don't understand what Daniel being a listening ear, person to be herself with and housing has to do with any of that, though. The only reason Daniel was a listening ear was because Issa sought him out for comfort instead of Lawrence. If Issa couldn't be herself with Lawrence, why was she still with him? The housing thing happened after the breakup, it means nothing. She'd still have her housing and sense of a security with a glowing-up Lawrence had she not cheated.

Do they? I've talked about Insecure multiple times with black women and the opinion seems mixed.
Honestly more women i've talked to disliked Issa's character than Lawrence.

This! Issa is annoying, I prefer Kelli and Molly story lines over hers. I watch but I hate the main character lol. She's lame, her job sucks, her apartment sucks, she's always looking stupid.
