ATL…overly
Because this isn't the late 90's, early 00's anymore.

Atlanta at one point was an entertainment CAPITAL for black ppl. Every dope new song or movement was from ATL at one point. And it was THE spot for bourgeois women who identified with Essence/Ebony mag and dudes who looked like they belonged on a S-Curl box
. :heh:

In the Dirty Bird Falcons, Lil Jon, Dupri, Ludacris, TI etc days, etc....everybody wanted to live in ATL. All that is dead now, and most of the younger athletes are too young to remember all of that.

Despite the #inherent ignorance of this statement a lot of that is still true. And our stature in the entertainment industry has only increased over time. People move here JUST to say they're in ATL, male & female. That's some bougie shyt.

And the rest of your statement about the Dirty Birds, Lil Jon, etc couldn't be more off. That movement was a niche "Dirty South Atlanta" movement. The city is much more global now and the opportunities the city provides from jobs, women, business, entertainment reflect that. If Atlanta can get a superstar athlete this will be HIS city with little to no resistance. And Atlanta rallies around stars, just like a NY/LA/MIA market does. Blue collar stars don't fill stadiums here unless it's college football...we need our pro teams to have a superstar and when we don't get it the day to day fan support isn't as strong outside of us long time ATL diehard fans

Everything I said is true. :manny:

I never said anything about ATL's being as a city. It's a great business place, with great opps, great housing market, a good amount of diversity, etc

BUT, so is Dallas/Ft Worth, probably even moreso than atl......and yet no star FA athletes wanna come to Dallas either. None of that stuff matters to athletes.

Word to Mike Vick
When he returned to ATL, you had tons of folks rocking the 7 jersey.

Unlike Atlanta sports teams. Dallas have a globally known franchise in the Cowboys, that attract superstar football players.

I can't remember the last time the Falcons or other Atlanta sports teams signed a superstar free agent.

T.O. sign with the Cowboys over the Falcons. Because the Cowboys is a globally known team that gets a lot of press. Cowboys are the reason why Dallas is a Top 5 media market city in the nation.
