As I said earlier, this isn't a franchise that has put a priority on winning a championship. Ever. Ted Turner was as close as it got, but when he sold to the Atlanta Spirit this franchise got even worse. Danny Ferry is the best GM we've had since Pete Babcock in the mid 90s and were STILL an afterthought in the East.

Atlanta as a city and destination is a great city...the dude who said his homeboy said Atlanta ain't how the rappers make it seem is one of the most ignorant statements I've read online. Atlanta has literally everything you could possibly want in a big city and is only getting better...it's an attractive market for a superstar free agent, we've just go to get the team to support that
I want to believe it but sell Atlanta to us. I hate Miami so I am like :yeshrug: but shoot us details.

I feel a little sympathetic for towns like Atlanta or even Cleveland in regards to sports because Miami is relatively a new kid on the block and have championships (plural) in all the major pro sports except hockey. Even the college team in Coral Gables that I do not like has championships and lack the history some towns and places have. :yeshrug:

There's just so much here, people who come here and complain about Atlanta had the wrong impression about the city anyway...YOU make your experience in a city, especially Atlanta. You can do everything I listed above PLUS more, but somebody saying a city ain't what he thought based off what a rapper said is some :camby: type shyt

What stars are we supposed to lure? Blake? Lebron?

who has been available? We resign our only star at the time joe johnson and we get ridiculed for the size of his contract. Damned if we do, damned if we dont.

Franchise changing players dont leave their teams. Why is that hard for yall to understand. You not bringing lebron in if wade not there.

you want us to get kevin love? But at the same time will he win us a ring? You guys are the ones who say "you not winning anytime soon with k.love as your star"

You have to get lucky in the draft and just so happens we've blown many picks over the yrs and our past gm's are to blame. shyt look at GSW, they didnt really lure guys unless they overpaid (for Lee, who isnt even a real superstar) and igoudala after they hit on klay, steph, and barnes.

He went up there for a job and mainly his ex-wife wanting to move up to ATL. I was the one building it up. He just said it is slow and laid back but the cost of living is a mofo in a good way. He just said one will gain weight and it isn't as popping as Tyler Perry movies and rap videos build it to be. Land, nice home and a nice paying gig is alright by me.

You would think it would be bigger destination then what it is but all it's gonna take is for them to have some real success or to get that one player and it'll be a prime free agent spot i think. ATL has everything you could want as far as entertainment and it seems like a place where a star would love to play.

The people and opportunities of social mobility is too competitive. Needing a masters to make $40K is some fukked up shyt. I just applied for some positions more to my flavor at MDC this morning. Hopefully, I get a call back in a few months.

For everyone hating on the city and saying thats the problem, you obviously dont know what you're talking about. The Falcons the past 5/6 years have not had a problem getting any FAs they've wanted to come here. Its an organizational problem as well as the way the NBA is structured. As posters had said before its rare a top 10 player becomes a FA and actually goes to a city without an already established star. This isnt really an Atlanta issue but more so an NBA issue. All the top players are concentrated into a handful of teams.

as for the CP3 and Dwight thing. Im not a fan of super teams and think the NBA would be better off with its stars spread out. But in hindsight i think those two would have benefited more teaming up in ATL in a weak eastern conference. With CP3, Dwight and Horford, under Buds coaching. They would have easily made it to the eastern conference and possibly the finals. But im over that and im excited to see what this team does.
