Different criteria. I never hear Nas, Kane, or Cube fans go on and on about how much their guy controls the radio. How everything sounds like Cube ft Cube, or how their throwaways get so much play. I hear those fans talking about the music. illMATIC, D.C and other great albums and classics. Drizzy fans always talk about his commercial success so its relevant for him, plus he doesn't have any classic so sales are normally what his stans go to. How much they hear Drake when they ride around. How everybody is fukking with that sound

Some Drake haters stick to posting once in a Drake thread to say they don't like him. You, on the other hand, STAY in Drake threads making multiple posts, make threads about Drake, and even bring Drake up when discussing Kendrick and Cole.

I didn't answer the thread cuz I ain't caught up in all this who sold more, who got more #1s, etc. But I do agree it's odd someone in Drake's position has no #1s. Then again, Jay didn't have a #1 single until Empire State of Mind, so it's still possible for Drake. It all depends if he can follow Jay's path and be that guy who is always one of the top dogs, even when he isn't THE top dog. But with the fast food style music industry these days anything could happen.
I only put #1s that artists had being the lead. Which is why I didn't put E.T by Katy Perry and Ye, which went #1.

It's just a weird stat to have as you said. And like I said, all his songs going straight to radio because of how popular he is might be a gift and a curse. Gift because people are always going to hear him. Curse because it's hard to decide what needs to be higher because it's all there, and it's hard to tell what's even good.
I can probably make the argument that he's NOT a hit maker. A hit maker with all the buzz that Drake has had, would have multiple number ones by now. MJ was a hit maker. Nelly was a hit maker he made that "just A Dream" shyt at the tail end of his career, and it's still charted higher than every Drake song since Best I Ever Had.
Drakes hits are a direct result of his popularity, if not he'd have number ones.
People listen because it's Drake, and not Because the songs are great.
This probably means that his falloff will be epic. Im not sure if he can make a hit without being the hottest in the game. What happens when his songs aren't automatically going to radio?
