Why doesn't the NBA network have good original content like the NFL network?

nfl network doesn't even air most of its old school material either, they're sitting on a lot of old nfl films footage that shyts on their current "old school" programming

Football is the GOAT sport. It's not even close when comparing football to other American sports like baseball and basketball, etc. :hubie:

A lot of this comes from the focus of the league on maintaining some semblance of parity, and the variance inherent to the way the game is played.

There are only 16 games, and the playoffs are single-elimination. Every single possession counts. :whew:

There's 53 guys on every roster. That's 53 potential human interest stories on each team, each year. :blessed:

There's also the fact that basketball is so star-driven and talent-driven compared to football over long stretches of time. :manny:

In football, one completely unknown dude can come in and make one play that forever changes the fortunes of his franchise because of the single-elimination nature of the playoffs :manny:

"The best team" doesn't always win - which is FANTASTIC if you're a fan of the sport. No matter how good you are as an NFL team, you can't simply cruise on the talent of the players on your roster - your opposition always has the opportunity to catch you slippin :demonic::demonic: because of the limited number of possessions you've got to fix errors made in prior possessions. :manny:

Every game in the playoffs is must-see TV. Even in the regular season - making the playoffs is a fukking challenge for most NFL teams. And once you're in...ANYTHING can happen. :krs::krs::banderas:

And unlike basketball, it doesn't take years and years of practice plus some super-rare combination of physical gifts and hand-eye coordination and countless AAU games to become a good (or even great) football player. A guy who was originally a good (but not great) basketball player can turn around and in 2 years or less become a serviceable tight end or offensive tackle, and with 1 good catch or 1 good block, bring a W home. :blessed:

And those massive rosters and the existence of an extended preseason and tryouts for undrafted FAs means that dudes have a lot more chances of making the NFL than they do the NBA :blessed: - you could languish for years in the G-league and never get that call-up because you simply never got to be in front of the right people or with the right other 4 dudes to make your game stand out and have teams consider you for promotion :mjcry:

Football. :banderas::banderas::blessed::blessed::blessed:

:wow:

The NBA is more star driven/less "team heavy".

The NFL's huge amount of upsets, and easier team upwards mobility makes it more cinematic and story driven.

Unless your the patriots, most teams that lose in the super bowl STRUGGLE to make it back (look at the Seahawks and falcons the last few years, for instance)

I love the NBA, but we know that it's a lot more predictable. As long as you keep your core, you'll be fine. LooI at the lakers/spurs era, the heatles, cavs/warriors,etc.

Unlike the NFL the NBA usually has meaningful content going on even during the offseason such as the Summer League so they dont need it as much. And they have Open Court which most people love.

People fail to realize that through 2/3 of the year the NFL has nothing to offer so they need original content

dumbest shyt i ever heard. Bleacher Report owns House of Highlights.. .NBA has no money invested in thta.

The NBA has some kind of partnership with them. That’s how they’re able to get the rights to post the highlights. Same with that Dawkins dude on Youtube

...do you not listen to that long ass message after every telecast!?! NBA would shut that shyt down if that wasn’t the case.

I've said this before, at worst they should have a First Take and a PTI show on everyday during the season. Those shows cost nothing to make. Its straight up laziness imo. ESPN even has The Jump for cyin' out loud

I dont get why people complain about NBA TV. It serves its purpose, has games and highlights and sometimes when I turn it on during non primetime, theres a classic game on. Sure it could be better...but that can be said for pretty much any cable channel in 2018.
There's an easy answer to this:

from a network perspective, they suck in comparison to the other three sports. If you're a hardcore fan, you never have to change the channel to get your sports fix on those networks. For NBA TV, that should be a one stop shop for hoops and it really isn't. This is where pandering to the internet burns them.

That said, NBA TV DOES have some original programming. Y'all just think it sucks and the NBA deep down knows y'all only care about some players and some teams, so they're not gonna bust their ass to give you deep insight into how a team like Atlanta gets down when the mere mention of them causes y'all to suck your teeth

It's because FreeDawkins/HoH helps the NBA :blessed:

I dont watch NBA Tv much but when I watch there some classic game on. I like that. Im more of a football fan and I lowkey think NFL network sux. To me that Top 10 "who are the best left handed running backs of all-time" show is garbage and the just run old episodes every day.Id much rather they play 95% classic or past games (condensed would be great) then the other way around where reruns, and the same news over and over again.
