Why don't black people like MMA?

I like Pro Wrestling even though it's fake, martial arts movies and boxing. :obama:

It seemed to me it was like the worst aspects of all three of those are what sums up MMA for me.:patrice: I can't really get into it because it's no where near as entertaining and the fights in wrestling and boxing are more interesting. Then the dumb ass arguments about Judo being better than this or that. Also all the grapples and cheap wins. It kind of makes me wish the Mob ran the MMA because even though they fixed matches like they did in boxing, them mofos knew how to entertain an audience. Also MMA fighters take themselves WAYYY too seriously. I like Rhonda because she can chill and relax but some of them dudes have serious psychological issues, and none of the good ones that make them more interesting or unique to watch. They are always walking and acting like someone jizzed in their coffee and didn't realize it until they already drank it.

I'll watch MMA movies though but then again the fights are scripted so it's drawn out and intentially made to look cooler than it actually is. That fight between Steve Austin and Big Show vs the Undertaker and Kane was the greatest 1 hour+ fighting and entertainment I saw. There was suspense, spectacle, triump and when Steve Austin won, it was the greatest feeling ever of victory. Then the whole backstory of Kane and Undertaker being brothers and evil just added whole other layers to the fight.

Even the skits were entertaining as hell!:ahh::ahh:

I feel like it's some barbaric redneck shyt:yeshrug:
I feel like white people are into it because they're tired of seeing blacks and latinos dominate boxing.:yeshrug:

I feel like a lot of people into that shyt are rednecks who don't like football or basketball, and only like hockey.:yeshrug:

I also notice a lot of jealousy and insecurity coming from those ufc types, always talking shyt about boxing and Mayweather, always wanting boxers to come get embarrassed in their arena but they wouldn't dare step in a boxing ring.

I love following and watching MMA. It's very exciting to watch but I've noticed that all black people care about is b ball football and Floyd mayweather. When I went to a bar for the first time to watch a UFC event it was all white people no blacks. Even when Jon Jones is fighting I've noticed that not many blacks give a shyt about him or support him even though he's black and he's going to go down in history as an all time great even greater than Anderson Silva and still no blacks give a shyt about his fights. Also MMA is a sport were you get to see the best guys fight in their prime you don't have to wait 1 2 3 some odd years to see the best guys compete against one another. I just don't get why more black people haven't taken a liking to such a great concept such as MMA.

Bob Arum made a distinction between boxing and MMA fans a few years ago, and even though I detest his old ass, he illustrates a couple of points I agree with...

"For me, I look at the UFC audience and the boxing audience as being two different audiences entirely. Our audience in boxing is ethnic. Hispanic, Filipino, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and the hardcore boxing fan who can't watch ... like me ... can't watch UFC. UFC are a bunch of skinhead white guys watching people in the ring who also look like skinhead white guys."

"And you don't have any tattoos. Ninety percent of the people in the audience wear tattoos. I don't care. That's up to them. But those aren't people that would have any interest, at any time, in boxing.

For me, and people like me, it is not something they ever care to see. They've watched it. It's horrible. Guys rolling around like homosexuals on the ground. It is not a sport that shows great, great talent."

I've noticed this shyt too. I'm a fan of/trained in both, and have respect for both, but you'll find a lot of MMA fans going well out of their way to shyt on boxers. They wanna bring up shyt like James Toney losing to Couture to try and prove a point, but wanna dodge Tim Sylvia getting knocked out in 8 seconds by Ray Mercer or Benji Radach getting knocked the fukk out by an amateur boxer named Danny Green :sas2:

They'll also fail to mention that A boxer has a greater chance of beating an MMA fighter at their own game due to puncher's chance alone, than an MMA fighter would at beating boxers in a boxing match :sas2:

alot of nikkas hopped on the kimbo bandwagon

i dont see as many into it now

nikkaz don't like that realization.
That the scariest hood nikka they ever saw in life could get bodied by punch block kick.
Not once , but twice in two different sanctioned and unsanctioned venues.

You, do know Queensbury rules are fakkit rules of combat made by a fakkit.
Even mike Tyson says so in his own documentary.
Plus, boxing is so carnie based.
That if boxers continue to try mma guys in combat.
Boxing would be exposed and the draw for it would be all but null and void after that.
That is why boxers don't want no smoke with mma.

The carnie based ruse is up.
for boxing and its gay carnie gypsy based theatrics of bullshyt rules.
If, the veil was pulled up anymore concerning combat and where mma and boxing are at.

A lot of blacks do like MMA. Put MMA camps in the hood and watch blacks take over that sport too.

To be real tho, a lot of the homies dont like the grabbin, wrestlin type shyt . nikkas like to come from the shoulders
How about we put book camps in the hood and watch blacks take over that sport too.

:dead:

Always tryna prove superiority in sports, let's work on teaching em how to read books first breh.

I dunno why people are going in on OP like he told a lie....

Not saying there are no black MMA fans but let's be real.....boxing still generally holds most dudes' interest over MMA. I ain't heard any MMA discussions in the barbershop YET

Cacs are different....MMA is still more associated with them in terms of the fan base

Also, the fact poverty sets in is why boxing is more ingrained in the hood.
Well it was,...
Back in the day before I was even in school.
Before the school system was destroyed that pretty much was the catalyst for hip hop.
School actually taught the science of boxing and it was an actual trade, in some schools.
So, the remnants of that braintrust and arena was more vibrant and integral to blacks.
As taking up other disciplines were for really gifted combat students who had resources. Or were for gifted combat students who earned resources and were put into higher grade schooling because of it as well.
So, there is a class distinction that dates back to why boxing used to resonate in the hood more.
When, in reality neither boxing nor mma really resonate at all anywhere with black people period.
