I actually hate live bands during rap performances. They usually never sound close to the real song.
I know all this

@observeNo it couldn't ..the music isn't meant to be live as in a band playing it..the drums on old skool drum machines like 808s and 909s sound totally different than live drums..then you got sampling....a live band can't play samples..

I think more rappers need to stop rapping with their vocal tracks in the background.

I think i've watch this about 30 times since the summer when i discovered it .
I know some do but more should especially the big names who perform on bigger stages .
Exactly. Not to mention stuff like Dark Side of the Moon was being performed live. Dark Side of the moon is so layered and has so many sounds and distortions yet they pulled it off. Hip-hop really isn't that hard to translate into a live band. I'm not sure what folks have been listening to at shows.@observe
I disagree.
Music is music, a tom is a tom, a kick is a kick, a snare
is a snare etc.
If they know what's going on they can replicate
as much of the original sound as possible.
I mean if it were impossible to replicate that electronic
sound on stage then a lot of bands in the 80's
would've never made it anywhere.
Guys like Marvin Gaye and Prince were using sounds
straight from the TR-808 or The Linn Drum machine on their
records then turning around and using those same patterns
and what not with a live band.

I started a thread with a similar topic but my browser
crashed I never got to finish it.

wow djing is a part of hiphop...for you to even ask that wow
Everybody posting videos cant keep using the roots.. they're ringers ... lol ...
But seriously besides costs I think the rappers themselves cant do it. Usually the live instrument sound is different and they probably cant hear the music cues. Every thing echoes and maybe they just not that good

Marvin Gaye and prince are live bands..just cuz they used some drums on drum machines for some songs..still doesn't take away from the fact that they're a live soul band..they're not hip hop..they don't make hip hop music..hip hop music is not meant to be live..you can perform some live shyt every once in awhile..but carry on tradition and stick to it's roots..only a certain few can do that..like the roots, and a few others..but lets not get crazy and have every other hip hop artists doing that shyt..that will destroy the culture..
That was straight up the best video posted.Cosign. When them 4 notes dropped, shyt sent a damn chill down my spine.
You are the worst poster ever!
Every live band posted here has been dope.
No one is saying do this all the time but it would be nice to hear live bands in special performances or maybe on tour.
Come on now look how snoop and bone killed with the live band.
