spit writtens over the beats.... 8 mile is a great example... it's a movie so you know that shyt was written... but the disses were still hard, you can understand shyt, crowd can't take over cause they know you gotta go on beat as well... plus you rocking to dope as beats, so more people gonna listen... like when nikkas kick "freestyles" over other nikkas beats in the mixtape era

there is NO reason, i should pull up a 3 rd battle, and that shyt clock in at 45 minutes.. you know damn well all 6 verses are not about to be straight flames... you know the crowd bout to add an extra 2 mins worth of bullshyt... you know nikkas gonna go back repeating every 4 bars they just spit... just to add on 2 more... then go back and spit all 6 again...


it's too damn much... condense that shyt, throw away those throw away lines, get the crowd to shut the fukk up... and spit flames for a good 10 mins


i'm trying to introduce someone to battling and i say "watch this one fam" you think a nikka gonna sit there and watch 45 mins of a battle? by the 15 min mark he already bored... and it might not last that long if the first dude's 10 min round ain't hot

The length of the battles, can be bothersome cant lie

but theres the opening video intro (showing sponsors, or a short backstory trailer)then the battle, then the outro video. So the actual battle itself isnt always long.

yeah they are pretty ruthless, quoting obituaries of dead family members and all that, there are no rules in the dutch league. The worst I've seen was this 2 vs 2 battle with two dutch and two belgian mc's, they found out one of the belgians father was a convicted child molester and spent the entire last round making jokes about him being raped by his dad

battle rap is the final frontier of hip hop. It is hip hop in its purest form.
It's not about record labels, it's not about who has the hottest producer, it's not about how many IG and Twitter followers a battle rapper has.



Biting and copying somebody's style is forbidden and heavily ground upon. Recycling is not allowed and heavily frowned upon. Battle rappers have no doubt the best pens, the most creativity and are able to perform on big stages.




So having said that, why don't you fukk with it?

Personally the crowd makes it hard to watch for me, everybody screaming "what else" or over hyping every single punch line likes its the most ingenious shyt ever, when really the bars that are the sickest gov over their heads and they don't respond at all. That and all the cliche bars and topics have turned me off lately.
