just general boredom with nothing keeping us binded together like marriage or kids. What happened?
The trend of men becoming more...."emotionally available" over the last few decades is probably true.

choosing the "right" women is all subjective, its like a dud grenade and a live grenade until you pull the pin you won't know which is real and which is fake are you going to take the chance?
Women are leaving "great" husbands because they want to be able to fukk around like they did when they were single and young. They still wanna get that last bit of dikk in as cougars and not feel badly about it. If they already have kids, alimony, and child support, why not play the field more after you get divorced? It's sexually empowering when women do it, right?

But as @Malta astutely pointed out, this is the society we've created in general: A "greed is good", "spit on the next man to get what you want", "its all about me", "caring about others is for losers", etc society. So why act surprised with this mentality translates to marriages? The couples profiled all sound like a bunch of overprivileged, spoiled brats who never know what they want, just that they want something more. Limiting that mindset to women isnt realty.
The psychologist seemed a bit too agenda-driven anyway, so who knows how valid her analysis of the couples is. Old white people love pimpin tradition and the "good ol days", and bellyaching about the fact that life was so much better when certain groups had less freedoms and the ability of choice that they do now.
