so if you have a great marriage that lasts 15 years and your wife wakes up and says shes not in love with you anymore and she felt this way for the past few years

choosign better partners means nothing because people can change, women go through menapause, sex drive changes, etc. as they increase in age. No one can tell what someone will be like in 5 or 10 or 15 years.

Situation sounds like a middle aged simp who married a young thot.

No way am I letting men off the hook but we're talking relationships and divorce. Women control both of those things as they initiate the majority of divorces. Society is filled with its all about me-isms but who takes that into a union with another person? The woman who needed the man to get on a knee with an expensive stone and beg her to put up with her, give her a nice wedding, etc...or the guy trying to get those things to give her?

1st Round Playoff Exits
most relationships peaked shortly after 3 yrs.
But as @Malta astutely pointed out, this is the society we've created in general: A "greed is good", "spit on the next man to get what you want", "its all about me", "caring about others is for losers", etc society. So why act surprised with this mentality translates to marriages? The couples profiled all sound like a bunch of overprivileged, spoiled brats who never know what they want, just that they want something more. Limiting that mindset to women isnt realty.

The psychologist seemed a bit too agenda-driven anyway, so who knows how valid her analysis of the couples is. Old white people love pimpin tradition and the "good ol days", and bellyaching about the fact that life was so much better when certain groups had less freedoms and the ability of choice that they do now.
I always laugh when k here reference about women working like it's a bad thing. So women should be dependent on a presumably manipulative dude for all their fianancial liabilities...

nope
Women go through menapause, sex drive level changes as they get older. No one is the same person they were years ago, you can choose the "right partner" today but 5, 01, 15 years from now they may not be the right partner.

Naturally you supposed to bust in a PYT raise your kid to about the age of 13 then repeat

If you a real rich nikka you can support multiple children at once

Or seeing as humans have the choice to deviate from natural impulses
Just don't have kids and fukk solely for entertainment*

Perhaps it would be even more honest to say that they don't want to be yoked to anyone any more. At least in the traditional ways they once embraced as ideal. They feel compassion for their prior mates, but liberated in their new-found right to create a different way of feeling in relationships. In short, they want to live their lives with the privileges men once had.

In my opinion, this is the crux of the article in a nutshell and it begs for one of the most important questions. How do we import new age ideals into an age old societal tradition? And do we have to redefine traditional gender roles to suit the new working definition of marriage in 2014 and beyond? Society has progressed massively over the course of 70 years and the roles that women play domestically and on the world stage have also increased. At one point in time, women had to marry for protection and financial security. These factors are no longer in play.

Rightfully so, women have say over their own lives and the direction they want it to go in. But ultimately the choice to marry lies with men and always will. With the hyper-individualistic culture we live in where people are selfish and only take their needs into account over their partners, maybe it's wise that we seriously consider redefining marriage for this new generation of people.

What you don't want to say is 20-23. :russ:

:sas1: Are they marrying older men who are stable and mature with careers, or rushing into marriages with uneducated military guys who are much more likely to fail?

Exactly.

PS: The women getting these divorces are your 30 year old goddesses you love so much, so maybe you can scoop up everyone else's leftovers! :gladbron:
