Why in the black community we sometimes struggle with having healthy conversations about obesity?

and as usual brothers and sisters bringing up well everybody is or what about so and so

I never been big but few years ago I broke my ankle and was laid up over 4/5 months and put on a extra 100 pounds.. went from 250 to nearly 350 pounds..

I started having sleep problems, pre diabetes and was feeling tired all the time

fast forward today and back down to 260, trying to get to 240 and my sleep habits are good, no longer pre diabetic and exercising every other day

It’s cheaper to cook and eat healthy than it is to eat junk food, so it always weird when people deflect with that. Reality is that people are addicted to consumption and they’re hooked on sugar, salt and fat. The same fat slob who’d stand in line for an hour for a Popeyes chicken sandwich wouldn’t stand over a stove and cook for 45 minutes.

Fallacy. What's cheaper than top ramen?

A lot of black communities don't have access to healthy foods. Without a car, especially in the south your options are limited.
Every grocery store has a fresh produce section, fresh meat section, dairy, grains, etc.

People bypass that and go straight to the processed foods.

Y'all act like eating healthy is some daunting task.

Everybody making it sound like they don't travel outside their area, smh if you gotta drive out 30-40mins to a store then that's what you gotta do or take local transportation...what you too good to ride the bus?

I have a car and if I gotta take a long drive to a certain store then that's just what I gotta do, it's simple.

This... I remember saying it's not only cheaper to eat at home, but healthier... Dude comments my post talking about "What the fukk can you get at Walmart that's cheaper than $10 for 10 cheeseburgers"

Really thought he had me and shyt....

I said "Breh.... You can hit the grocery and buy ground beef for about $2.50 a pound... So that's about 3 pounds of beef, or 12 quarter pounders... And you still got money for buns.. Oh and the McDonalds burgers ain't no beef either so good luck with those 10 burgers"

People are fukking lazy

Water and your own ramen noodles.. drop in some chicken bouillon cubes and seasoning and you'd have a healthier, better tasting and cheaper and greater quantity....

Good try though
