My parents were in their late 20s/early 30s when they had me and my siblings, same for my aunts and uncles, and my maternal grandparents/great aunts and uncles.

Its still largely a class and ethnicity thing.
And my mom was 30 when she had me but in her teens with my sisters. There's a class issue but there's also a generational issue. Your experience isn't the majority and never has been in any culture.

Half my classmates from Class of 2015 are pregnant or already with a kid/married. My nikka.... we are 21-22 years old and literally every other classmate's FB profile I click on has a baby in their arms. :gucci:

TF is going on here?? Why is my graduating class so damn stupid? How can you even afford to have a baby at your age in this climate without making six figures? Even the Honor Roll student who I thought had a bright ass future is boo'd up with her man and a newborn baby working a 9-5. I'm convinced this is how broken families are created in the black community. I guess I'm so upset because a couple months ago this could've been me (I was going raw in my girl even when she wasn't on the pill). I was on some loser ass shyt breh.:snoop:

Being pregnant at a young age is not a novelty at all in eastern cultures girls get married off hella young, and in western cultures you see girls from 15-21 getting pregnant by some idiot since the 70's. I think the best question you should have asked was "Why are many females getting pregnant by dead beat guys while jobless, studying or working minimum wage jobs?"

You know how you got some black parents that be ashamed if their kids come out :wrist:

I would be the type of kid that would be ashamed if my parents were broke.

Do not disrespect me and bring me into this world having to compete with kids whose parents weren’t broke as fukk, smoke, drank, or was in the club every weekend, knew the difference between “there”, “their” and “they’re”, wasn’t hopping on and off community dikk, whose life and career goals wasn’t to become a CNA or working at FedEx, had degrees beyond high school, et cetera, et cetera... them shyts is embarrassing as fukk. Who wants to compete with remedial ass parents in 2020?

You know how embarrassing it would be to get into a fight with some young nikkas at school and yo momma comes in acting a fool cause yo daddy ain’t around to step in and handle the situation?

You know how embarrassing it would be to be in children’s circle and the question comes up “what do your parents do” and you have to say that yo momma does nothing but collect snap benefits and child support from an invisible daddy?

Shame these parents making consecutively bad decisions.

I would rather had been aborted instead of them bringing me into a whole life of struggle.

The data is about 6 years old but teenage pregnancy has trended down since 91.

dropped by half.3 In 2013, the CDC reported that birth rates for U.S. teens 15-19 years old dropped to a record low not seen since 1946.4 This decline in teen pregnancies crossed all races and ethnicities.

Looks like more recent stats say the rate continues to drop.

About Teen Pregnancy. In 2017, a total of 194,377 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 18.8 per 1,000 women in this age group. This is another record low for U.S. teens and a drop of 7% from 2016. Birth rates fell 10% for women aged 15–17 years and 6% for women aged 18–19 years.

Best time to have kids biologically is early 20's. However, the kids that did the best at my school and ended up the most successful (usually) had parents that didn't have babies until late 20's to mid-30's...at least from what I saw. Like in high school, the A-students parents would be mid-40's. The C-students momma's would be fine as hell :russ::ohhh::shaq:.

It's kind of a trade-off. You can have your kids a little early and they'll probably be a bit healthier and stronger..........or you can mature and have them later. Parents that are a little older tend be able to invest more time into their kids (getting them to read earlier, learning an instrument etc).

Location matters too. My girl is from a smaller town and everyone got married/had kids fairly early (damn near half her graduating class by age 25 or so). I'm from Dallas, 3 years older than her, yet probably half the people I went to school with STILL haven't had kids even though most have great jobs and make a lot of $$$. The ones that have had kids didn't start making babies until 28, 29 or 30...even the super religious types. Big city means lots of options so you tend to wait it out. Small town means you gotta pick someone quickly or get stuck with no options.

Yeah I mentioned in the past, I was shocked at how many females I went to High School with got pregnant & had a kid within 2-3 years of graduating High School.
