Why is Jesus blasphemed but no other religion's figure is?

This video made me think

Why does no one ever say Buddha's name in vain?

Allah's?

Muhammad?
:jbhmm:

I wonder about you guys sometimes. We live in a Christian society. All our moral stances come from a Protestant/Christian Point of view. 95% of Americans are Christian or were Christian at some point. Most people have no religious relationship with Buddhism, Islam or Hinduism. So why would they see Mis-speaking about Buddha or Muhammad as wrong or Blasphemy when they do not believe in them?

What the hell are you talking about? Did you forgot the 2006 cartoon controversy? There was a Nigerian student who was killed over an accusation of blasphemy recently.

Not to mention Sikhism has a culture against blasphemy

Exactly. There isn't a comparison. Jesus is mocked way more. South Park even went as far as covering his face. But Jesus gets all the smoke

One more time; this is a Christian country so miss speaking about Jesus is way more offensive than saying anything about any other religious figures. Many people here actually believe in Jesus. It’s Just That simple.

Christianity's gatekeepers decided long ago to prioritize the temporal over the spiritual. The thinking being: who cares what a man's criticisms are when you own their debt?

Of course now they control neither temporal nor spiritual, but they'll die on their hill lying to themselves otherwise. Ye olde dog-and-bone consequences.
