Last time I heard about a guy "disrespecting" Muhammad was in France, he was simply teaching a course about censorship and decided to discuss the case covering the Charlie Hebdo shooting (hyperlink included), that case involved some satirical depictions of Muhammad, which lead to the terrorist attack on their building. The teacher warned anyone that would be offended that they would have permission to leave the classroom before the images were shown. One of the students told their family member about that portion of the the curriculum and the member caught the teacher outside of the school and beheaded him in the streets. I had the unfortunate timing of walking right into what should have been a censored photo of the beheading, struggling to place why his neck looked the way it did, only to realize it was his mask pulled down over where his neck should have been. That picture was HD as hell too, I still can't get that image out of my head.
