Lol so u stopped watching one sport after you got into another sport?
:mjlol:
Can you not read? Yeah, wasn't planned or anything but I started to find it very boring.... Basketball & soccer >>>>>

There is a reason why those to are, or will be the top two biggest sports in the world.

Idk, I tried giving it a chance a few times and I've traveled around the world. I just don't find it entertaining.

Alright ya'll need to stop:mjlol:

America is the richest nation in the world, with quite literally thousands upon thousands of sports/hobbies to watch and play. Why in the world do we have to be force fed a sport with people running back and forth that ends in a 0-0 tie? Fortunately for baseball, its 'America's Pastime', or that boring ass game would also be in the bushes.

LMAO, I love me some America but when the rest of the world is playing that sport, its undeniable. :yeshrug:

So if America as a whole is damn near last place in the world at math and science, we gonna throw math and science in the bushes too?

Youre right- if rich and prospering nations like Brazil and Venezuela play soccer, something gotta be wrong with us right?:russ:Again, the expansion and popularity of soccer greatly coincides with the age of imperialism.

Look at Japan or China- which were largely independent during imperalism. While they enjoy soccer, it is certainly not their #1 sport.

My brother I don't know if you've noticed. America already threw math, science, and most education in the bushes.

If you don't believe me look no further then the posters on this forum. The OP is a very good example.

soccer is boring to a lot of people because of stupid ass rules that prevent more scoring

they'll whistle some dude offsides if he has 1 centimeter of his shoe ahead of the :flabbynsick: defenders :camby:. oh look his shoulder was ahead of the defenders OFFSIDES!!!
like they will penalize athletic/speed advantage because of some retarded imaginary line the defenders have created and this is "good strategy"

get rid of that shyt, watch soccer scores go from 0-0 and 1-0 to 6-5 :banderas:

Thank God football doesn't have something like an imaginary line it it that keeps players from using their athletic ability and speed to get a head start. Oh what's that you say? Oh right they do.

If you are a better/more physical/faster then the athlete you are being guarded by in soccer you don't need to worry about offsides anyways. You should still be able to beat them to the ball anyways. If you do get caught in an offsides trap by the defense all you can really do is say shyt and silently applaud the defense because their defensive tactic worked on you.

pay attention to this post.

Soccer is the world sport MOSTLY because its the cheapest to play, and if you got two legs and feet you can at least participate.

However, I think soccer gets a bad wrap here because of the advent of Baseball really. Around the time association football was really taking off, Baseball was becoming America's sport. So of course all the colony countries at the turn of the century became adept at soccer because the crown was still heavily involved in them (Besides Canada because, Hockey). Jamaica, West Africa, South America...ect. All former colonies of major European powers. So naturally they brought their leisure sports with them. Such was not so in America...we had expelled our British influence centuries ago.

However, now. The sport is getting even more popular here because of the interwebs, international travel, and honestly marriages and kids between foreign parents are all more prevalent now. But on the real, soccer is just a beautiful sport.

And for those saying how terrible the other leagues are, that's a money issue more than it is a talent issue. Now that the MLS is getting more traction in the states (Same for Liga MX too) owners have more incentive to bring big names in and have more money to do so. Talent wise, birth almost doesn't matter on a global scale. Neymar and Ronaldinho both played in Brazil first. CR7 in Sporting Lisbon ect. Almost EVERY world star plays or is cultivated in their home nation FIRST. With the exception of renown schools like Southampton and La Masia in Barcelona, if you have the money to retain the talent then the league can prosper. Which is why England, Germany, Spain and Italy are basically unfukkwithable giants league wise. They pump so much money into them....but don't get it twisted. Spain is lopsided, Italy is a one team show and Germany has been dominated by Bayern Munich...its a MONEY issue not a talent issue.

And Soccer is great to watch when you know what to look for...80% of the skill in soccer is everything up TO the goal. Just like when you see great team D in college basketball, or great blocking in Football....people take the time to look for the nuances of the game. Most Americans just don't wanna take the time to look for those nuances.

I've been wondering lately why more investment isn't being made in futsal/5 a side football

40 minute regulation quicker pace higher scores etc.
shyt that appeals to the short hyperactive attention span of the masses

:manny:football is the world's largest religion though so what can you really do¿+

True, and also unless you're "born into it" you might take time to enjoy it. I was almost like OP "it's boring" "what is ofside anyway" "again 0-0" and so on, because I grew up with bball. But around my late teens I kind of got into it (still mostly only watch big international games) and I by no means understand all the nuances of the game, but I appreciate much more and find myself anticipating big games at least as much as NBA playoffs or Finals games. Of course living in Europe plays a big part.

Also it became now that the fact that scoring is rare in soccer means that it's that much gratyfing when it happens. And I can't see any other sport creating the kind of craziness as Germany scoring 7 goals to Brazil on their home turf :russ:
