WHY IS THE NFL MORE POPULAR THAN THE NBA?

Definitely more action happens in an NBA game

But there are variables outside of the nba's control with regards to popularity.

To be honest as long as the nba keeps on its course of being smart about its product it will continue to grow especially internationally..

NBA is far more social media savvy than the NFL...Has more visible athletes than the NFL

Has more international showcases than the NFL

Will be more popular than the NFL with the younger generations coming up...well at least with those outside of the southern states

Basketball was a 4 team league back then if you watched TV. The other teams weren't televised at all. League pass never would have worked back then, a lot of teams struggled to have their games televised in their local area.

Comparing it to a time when the NBA only showcased a couple teams and then had those teams face each other in the finals every year... Why do you think NBA salaries are going crazy now if the 80s were more popular?

This is debatable.. I've known some women that are football fans but I've also met alot that don't know what the f*ck is going on at all during a football game... but they know their basketball.

There are true fans, but I think football has a lot more to bring in the casual fans. Gambling, fantasy football, restaurant/bar specials, etc. Basketball has that too but not nearly of the same magnitude

Poll the NFL audience and most would rather play basketball than football. The MMA audience would rather play basketball than get arm barred by someone.
