For some of y'all saying is because of white people, y'all do know a lot of black people like and watch the NFL right? :rudy:

Y'all also know that white people like and watch the NBA as well right? :heh:

Exactly

has anyone brought up NFL films as a reason? they kept amazing footage of all the best players of the last 50 years

nba didn't even have a camera at Wilts 100 game but you can find great highlights of the 1966 Packers

Good point

There's a lot of different reasons why NFL is more popular than the NBA

Some like the uniforms and helmets

Some like the physical of the game

Some like the stadiums and crowds that comes with football

So on and so on

The NFL promoted they're game really well in the past 50 years

Baseball's a more random sport, so you don't feel as if you're watching a foregone conclusion

Breh we gon eat so good this October :banderas:

Wild Card games :blessed:

Pressure on Kershaw and Price to play like aces in the playoffs :wow:

Random players becoming stars on the big stage :ahh:

The possible fukkery of the Cubs or Indians losing in the most horrible way :pachaha: :russ:

Baseball playoffs is the best from start to finish :obama:

Idk how nikkas do it. Watching an NFL game all the way through is exhausting

After about an hour of endless commercial breaks and 3 minutes of actual game time I tune the fukk out and change the channel :heh:

same with the nba. i dont get how you dudes can sit thru all the free throws and shytty ref calls and no defense being played. People overhype the NBA here but its a garbage ass league. NFl is garbage too

I fall asleep watching every game now. I just go to youtube now and watch highlights . thats better than most of these games

We're talking an 8 year span sample to prove parity for a league that's been popular for 40 years...? On top of that, you're just naming the winners, and not the repeat participants.... The AFC has had like 5 teams play for the Super Bowl over the last 20 years....

The NFC probably isn't that far behind.... the same teams have been making the playoffs for the most part for the last 20 years....

so they both have shytty parity

baseball has the best product.

Each Superbowl after 2008 has had a different winner, and way more diverse match ups than the NBA Finals... 12 different teams have played in the championship in that span..at least look at a wikipedia page or something before being wrong

Like I said go look at the ratings between the MJ era and the Bron era they were down. Even with Shaq and Kobe, that shows that people are tuning in to watch a specific all wordly player, now does the NBA have another one of those to piggy back off of?

I'm a NBA guy myself but football is more ingrained into America than basketball is. Low Key the NBA needs an American white star or two in the worst way. The NFL is mostly black but they wear helmets and they've recently put the QB position, which is mostly white, to the forefront of the league. Not to mention they market well, the NFL Network is leaps and bounds better than the NBA Network, only 16 games a season, damn near turned football on Sunday's into a religion, and the college game, which is a monster as well, promotes the players into the next level. College basketball, which used to help promote future stars, is a shell of its former self and irrelevant outside of March Madness.

Football is grunt violence and a test of manhood. It's at the core of manhood even as children.

More people's fathers played football than basketball.
Plus in the hood/school, you can play football with somebodies shoe(I've done it) or just a water-filled coke bottle.

And there's less games, so they mean more.
This isn't true at all. In America damn near EVERYONE has played basketball at some point, simply because of the accessibility. Unless you mean at a competitive school level or something. I doubt you could find a football player who never played basketball but you certainly can find the reverse.

NFL fans talking about parity like the NFL isn't watered down with all the rule changes.

The league is suited for QB's to tear it up and there's still so many trash QB's. How many NFL teams are watchable on a weekly basis?

Panthers
Falcons
Tampa
Dallas
Zona
SD
Seattle
Denver
Minny
Green Bay
Indy
Cincy
NE
NYG
BMore
Philly
Oakland

So, that's over half the league off the top of my head. Could probably make arguments for several others.

This is easy. You have entire sections of the country that only watch football and maybe baseball. If they do watch the basketball, its usually college. The NBA simply doesn't have the regional appeal that the NFL does. Basketball is seen as a more intimate, urban game that is owned by the city. The Mavericks for example, are popular in the city, but I've never heard my relatives that live in the country(my family is huge) talk about the Mavericks, but rather popular players in the league. Cowboys, all day, everyday though. The NBA needs to market to the rest of the country. Create regional allegiances. I think the TV deals have a ton to do with that, as well as distribution deals. The NFL and NCAA are in rural Wal-Marts far more than the NBA.
