When you're not the #1 or #2 option on your team for multiple titles or your defense isn't what wins the game and you play within an system that levels everyone out can you really be considered the GOAT?

How good do you think the Spurs would be without Duncan though?

He's a vital piece to that team. He provides more than just post scoring and defense. He's a leader.

Without Duncan they're a different team.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
But y'all NEVER piss on the Lakers for beating the 76'ers, Pacers, and Nets for that 3 peat and let's not act as if the Spurs didn't beat the Pistons who the season before gave the hurtin to the Lakers.

Don't try diss Philly. Furthermore, The Lakers swept the West that year. As for the others I give you that but they had to go through better teams in the West, and they probably would've 4peated if not for internal problems.

Duncan is overlooked for the same reason Kareem is overlooked. Big man basketball has been devalued. All people wanna see is handles, 30 foot fadeaways, and dunks. And he doesn't have a big personality and isn't constantly promoting himself. Ironically enough the same people who dismiss him for these reasons (consciously or subconsciously) will be the first to call others sheep. :mjlol:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Shaq only averaged .2 less blocks

Lakers were 19th defensively :russ:

We won't even get into the Lakers record without Shaq that season, but hey, you feel Kobe or Shaq deserved MVP over Duncan in a year his team won the title and finished with the best record in the league :dead:

You know whats funny about this picture is that, if you go by this, the best players since the NBA-ABA merger are:

1) Michael Jordan: 6 NBA Titles, 6 Finals MVPs, 5 MVPs = 17
2) Magic Johnson: 5 NBA Titles, 3 Finals MVPs, 3 MVPs = 11
3) Tim Duncan: 5 NBA Titles, 3 Finals MVPs, 2 MVPs = 10
4) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: 5 NBA Titles, 1 Finals MVP, 2 MVPs = 8
4) Kobe Bryant: 5 NBA Titles, 2 Finals MVPs, 1 MVP = 8
4) Larry Bird: 3 NBA Titles, 2 Finals MVPs, 3 MVPs = 8
4) LeBron James: 2 NBA Titles, 2 Finals MVPs, 4 MVPs = 8
4) Shaquille O'Neal: 4 NBA Titles, 3 Finals MVPs, 1 MVP = 8
9) Hakeem Olajuwon: 2 NBA Titles, 2 Finals MVPs, 1 MVP = 5
10) Moses Malone: 1 NBA Title, 1 Finals MVP, 3 MVPs = 5

My Pops Forever RIP
Why because he's not controversial? Shut your disrespectful ass up!
No it's because he's boring, not even boring in the Derek Jeter sense (he's boring too but not his style). Nobody's gonna dikkride a corpse, and that's what Duncan is, an all-time great corpse of a man. That's fine with him, but nobody's gonna go out of their way to treat a corpse like a rock star.

Plus he doesnt have any legendary moments on the court:yeshrug:

Kobe has 81 points, 40 ppg average over 3 months, outscoring the NBA Champions by himself in only 3 quarters of work, Crossover on Pippen leading to the oop for Shaq, 2000 NBA Finals OT Game 4, etc

Jordan....are you kidding me?

LeBron has the Pistons game, the last second shot on the Magic, etc

Shaq has his birthday game, glass shattering dunks, alley-oop on the Trailblazers, etc

Magic....are you kidding me?

Bird.....are you kidding me?

Hakeem has the MVP snub series against the Spurs

Tim Duncan doesnt have ANY moment that I can think of and that, no matter what he stans are gonna say, shape how people view you as well, because the media isnt running off highlights of him. He just plays basketball right.

His career is his moment :mjpls:

And @tremonthustler1's favorite player screamed out "Anything is possible" after winning a title, his only title :dead:

Brolic... Alcoholics

Duncan is the gold standard for young bigs :blessed:

:pachaha:

Dawg... How did you get to be such a Stan? Like I really want to know this story and I'm not even meaning it in a disrespectful way. I've always been a fan of dude. Even back when nikkas was tryna say Garnett was better.
