Nope

The last 2 games of that series the Cavs started this lineup -

Gibson
Pavlovic
Bron
Gooden
Zydrunas

Even if you play Hakeem at the 4 they aren't winning, that was the worst team to make it to the finals in....ever.

Let's not forget that the reason the Cavs lost the Finals is because LeBron shot 35% FG for the series. Even THEN, they lost Games 3 and 4 by a grand total of 4 points.

Game 1: Spurs 85 Cavs 76
Game 2: Spurs 103 Cavs 92
Game 3: Spurs 75 Cavs 72
Game 4: Spurs 83 Cavs 82

No way in the world would 1994 Hakeem Olajuwon be held to 35% FG in the NBA Finals. He averaged 27 ppg against prime Ewing and 33 ppg against Shaq in the Finals........what would Fabricio Oberto been able to do with him?

The Cavs could've done much better, but that was back when LeBron didnt have a reliable jumper and they used that against him. Forcing him to take jumper after jumper.

The defensive 1st Cavs, with 3 point sepecialists like Boobie Gibson, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall, and Sasha Pavlovic would've been able to knock down the wide open, outside 3 pointers, caused by the need to help down in the low post on Hakeem.

Not to mention Varejao, Ilgauaskas, and Olajuwon would've been all over the boards and the Spurs only had Tim Duncan as a legit big man in 2007.

Yall tripping right now.

You of all people know how much a difference a GREAT big man is versus having a GREAT wing man. Hakeem would've won with those Cavs.

:wtf: the entire Spurs defense was keyed in on stopping LeBron, that focus would have shifted to Hakeem because that Cavs team had no secondary or even a third option to score.

The Cavs shooters could not make shots, you're citing Damon Jones? He averaged 2.4ppg and shot 32% from 3 for the entirety of the playoffs, Donyell averaged 3.5ppg and shot 31% from 3, nevermind the fact neither guy could defend their position. Pavs shot 38% from the field and 35% from 3 during the playoffs, the only reliable 3 point shooter they had was Gibson and he got roasted by Parker, that wouldn't change one bit.

That Cavs team was awful and they weren't winning the title regardless of who the star player was because every last player around that star could be shut down with simple man to man defense.

I dont understand why so many people hating on his performance?:dwillhuh:

It was a great performance and shows that he CAN explode with large scoring bursts if he puts his mindset to it like he's always stated.

He's the best all-around player in the NBA today, he has been since he's entered the NBA, and will go down in history as the best all-around player to ever play.

LeBron James:salute:

Kobe has had his multiple explosive games and we praised him for it. Let's quit all the unnecessary hating on someone else who's displaying greatness:manny:

I thought we were talking about the NBA Finals?

In the 2007 NBA Finals, Damon Jones shot 56% from 3, Sasha Pavlovic shot 42% from 3, and Boobie shot 32% from 3. The numbers wouldve only rose, because Hakeem would've been doubled down in the post, where LeBron was forced outside the paint. That's the main difference between a Big and a Wing. Hakeem would've been able to kick out to the wide open 3 point shooter while LeBron didnt have anyone open.

If you're saying they could shut down the Cavs players with single coverage, how would they have guarded 1994 Hakeem? Single coverage?:heh: No, they would've had to double him which means SOMEONE would be open. LeBron didnt have that luxury because he was outside the paint as well.

this is the 2nd 60th point game they've allowed in 5 weeks. and westbrook just went 10-12 on them sunday. nothing about this defense is top 5 anything.
Just because they let the best scorers in the league go off doesn't mean their defense is bad...Al Jefferson also went for 38 & 19 last night
