USA hockey is super niche status, never had an Ovechkin, or Iginla, yet they're always a medal contender every Olympics.
It can happen.

The USA's talent pool in hockey is actually alot better than people give them credit for. I'd say they've passed Russia over the last few years.

We're decent, and a big part of it is our best athletes play football and basketball and to a lesser extent baseball and hockey. In Brazil their best athletes ALL play soccer.

I want my son to play la Liga one day. Them dudes get PAID.

That Nikka might not EVER touch a football.
Not more then american athletes. Football (calling it soccer :scusthov:) doesn't have cap space, the owners can't afford to give players huge contracts. The biggest contract right now is like a little over $20M i believe
well at least we better than England :yeshrug:
why are you saying we like your ancestors were american?

Ronaldo and Messi made 50 million last year. Only Floyd Mayweather made more.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who plays in France (not even a top tier league), made 40 million.

dollar or euro? And yeah i know they make a lot of money, most of it is from sponsors and endorsements tho. I was just saying their actual salary, the money they get just for playing for their team, isn't that much compared to the nba

The European and Latin American countries train their kids at young ages at an incredibly high level. U.S. would need to emulate that system but that would likely require soccer to become a mainstay of society.

The level of U.S. soccer play has increased immensely though

Dollars. And that is pure salary, sponsorship dollars not included. Floyd made 73 million dollars in 2013.

Klinsman has said when the inner-city kids start playing soccer is when US will be a world power.
Plus none of these kids know that there's NBA, MLB, NFL type money overseas. Plus there's alot of kids playing the wrong sports imo. Everybody has hoop dreams and NFL dreams but most don't even have the build for these sports

Nikka you clearly don't know what the hell you talkin about.

La Liga stars make WAY more in salary than NBA stars. Barca just be THROWING money trying to buy a great team.

American nikkaz live in a bubble breh, and I'm American.

I think slowly Americans are becoming more and more aware of the pro leagues in Europe. I'm a classic example of the typical American sports fan. I didn't follow the sport until 6 years ago but now shyt is crack. If Americans were to watch games from any of the top leagues in Europe, I think they'll appreciate it and become fans. It's a beautiful game to watch.

Waking up on Saturday and Sunday mornings and have live games on is:blessed:
Games uninterrupted by commercials:wow:
NO timeouts, or any other bullshyt that corporations have pushed for so they can have more advertisement spots and making games last 3-4 hours. Who's got time for all that shyt?:pacspit:
Mind you though, I don't watch MLS, just the Euro leagues:russ:. Watching MLS is like watching NBDL:mjlol:.

My pops is a huge la liga fan and just football fan in general, i always ask him and he told me the highest paid player was getting like 20M, idk if he meant dollar or euro tho. he said messi is gonna pass eto as highest paid player real soon. Barca owner apparently is a insecure ass fakkit and wants him to make more then ronaldo or something :bryan:

either he doesnt know wtf he's talmbout or you don't :manny:

Nope, the NFL and NBA take too many of the top tier athletes.
Plus don't all the premier soccer players make money overseas? Americans(in the most sports) only play overseas when it their last resort. They'll bolt from their overseas team to take a lesser role gig on an American team even for lesser money.
