you need a known good PC or laptop straight out of the modem bypassing the router. as a cable tech if i had Comcast internet and i was pulling speeds like that with a known good PC straight from the modem i'd call them up and schedule a service call. there's no way you should be getting sub 1 meg speeds on cable internet.

the problem is if you call Comcast and the issue is the wiring in your house you're likely gonna be billed for whatever the tech has to fix. Comcast doesn't own the cable wiring in your house, you do so you're responsible for it. if you got a bad drop coming to your house from the tap or there's signal issues out of the tap that's different or if the modem is bad that's different but if they come in your house and find shyt wiring or crappy splitters you're gonna get billed.

most of the time when i go to somebody's house and they're getting speeds that slow its because they have shyt wiring and gold splitters and bad fittings on the cable letting noise get into the system and that noise is killing their speeds. either that or they got a PC from the early to mid 2000s with Windows XP on it and it isn't capable of pulling great speeds.

That's why I always keep a Linux live CD around. Allows you to bypass whatever bullshyt is installed on the computer and see what's really happening with the network.

nah that's not it, breh. This just started happening. We've never had this problem before.

When I had a similar issue, it was a bad cable (like I stated earlier). Try using a different cable and see if that makes a difference. My net was immediately faster after replacing the cable and rebooting the modem/router.

What's the least speed that you'll be able to comfortably play xbone/ps4 games online with minimal to no lag.
