If I had to guess nothing under 12-15mbs
What does it mean?
this is basically what i have. i can stream sports and netflix no problem, and play online games. anything under 8 is where shyt gets dicey (dont ask how)

cable is weird. one bad end on a piece of cable in your house can make the while thing shyt the bed. it could even be in a neighbor's house and feed noise back to the tap. could be fine for several years then all of a sudden give problems.
the problem with cable is its a closed system and if it doesn't remain that way you can start having problems when stuff gets in there at the different frequencies.
anyway once the router is bypassed and a line is coming straight out of the modem to the pc and its pulling speeds like that you call the cable company.

i get that over wifi with a Wireless AC router on the 5 GHz band. my internet is rated at 30 megs though.

Two threats were detected using Malwarebytes. I removed them and restarted my comp, and now my comp is running faster. Lets see if this lasts, though.

if that's not the case and somebody is going ham on torrents or something
Removing the router from the equation would also eliminate this just for testing sake.

removed malware through malwarebytes. Imma put my mom on.
Downloading torrents. Also downloading porn using Ant downloader for Firefox. As soon as I saw that my internet speed had improved I downloaded a gloryhole swallow compilation video
shyt is 3.42gb tho lol. So I'll have awhile

My internet speed has been horrendous these past few weeks. I can't download shyt; I barely can surf TheColi like I want to. Comcast says that I can buy more bandwith, but they said that part of the problem is that I play my ps3 online while I'm surfing, and that slows it up. I never had that problem before, though. We just exchanged our router for a newer one, but I still think the router is the problem. We have a Netgear
Will buying a new router help? I don't want to trade in our router for another piece of shyt. If so, what brand should I go after? Any particular suggestions?
