Becuz we saw how Miami struggled and we saw Bron dominate when the team needed him to on many occasions. I'm a Lebron fan but I wouldn't respect it if he wasn't playing to his potential in Miami. If Wade was the leader of that team Bron's legacy would have taken a serious hit.

The point people are making is that context matters. Can't just say "a win is a win"
it didnt happen before tho

Pierce was the man on that Celtics team, yet no one knocks down KG for instance.

I think cats said it best in other threads....Bron started it, but KD one upped Bron's move big time and in a more disgusting manner to many. The core of both of their moves isn't drastically different, it's just KD's was more bytchmade considering how close he and OKC came to beating the Warriors.
igoduala said okc was the best team last playoffs .

Well KG was in Duncan's class at one point and was seen as a level above Dirk until Dirk won his ring as "the man" so...yeah we probably do knock down KG a little bit.

And the Celtics are not comparable to the Warriors. They literally don't need KD to win a ring. He's the first superstar to be in this position...

Joining a 73 win team and winning a ring is not going to wipe the stain of being up 3 - 1 in the WCF and losing off his resume...

In fact...it makes him worse...cause the only thing worse than being up 3 - 1 on a team...is to go join that team the very next year...

The only way he could possibly be any more lame is if he was talking to the warriors while he was playing them in the WCF....and if you believe reports...he was...
Yes it will.

Y'all gotta get outta your feelings. We get it. KD disappointed America somehow by not going to Washington. KD realized it's a lot better to be called a hoe than Mr. Unreliable. He realized OKC blew the best shot they had last year though he had a major part in that (anyone who thought OKC woulda been a threat to GS this year was wishing on a star). If it wasn't KD it woulda been some other star and fans would still cry.

At the end of the day, everyone who continues to track KD's legacy will have to put NBA Champion beside his name soon whether y'all want to or not.

If they didn't have KD, many of you would have believed OKC with KD or a healthy Spurs team could have beaten them, so they needed KD just to get to the Finals, let alone win it.

"Many of you would have believed"-- the moment you started reaching to make a point

Obviously it woudlve have been more challenging playing against the 2nd best player in the NBA instead of with. But we know how good they are without him so please stop being ridiculous. How did they look when he got hurt?

KD getting a title gets the "never won a title" off his back but I don't think it helps his overall legacy because of how he did it, fair or unfair that's how he will be judged. Him leaving a team that was up 3-1 in the WCF to join the 73 win team that beat him will always have an asterisk :yeshrug:

There's always some bullshyt caveat. Media and fans want the athlete to do what they want them to do and they don't get it done that way, they shyt on them. When the athlete decides to do things his way and puts himself, in what can be perceived as a better position, guess what? Fans and media still shyt on him.

Fans and media created this clusterfukk of a story and the athlete has finally said, "fukk that shyt" and is re-writing it.

This isn't the athletes' fault at all.

KD was 2 minutes from eliminating Golden State in back to back games.

And went to join a 73 win team.

You can make the comparison to Lebron all you want. But no matter how loud you scream it, Lebron joined a team significantly worse than those Golden State Warriors. It's not the same. It will never be the same.

Durant can say he doesn't care what people think or say about him, but people will never forget that move. Ever. That's gonna follow Durant for life.

It doesn't mean he's not a great player. But let's not pretend this was some sort of Karl Malone at the tail end of his career on the Lakers type shyt

I'm going to take an actual basketball player (lebrons) over yours. gsw has been the best team the last 3 years and added a mvp. it's simple
