Will Philly ever come back? Will a Philly cat ever make it a "Jay-Z, Nas, Big" level?

they're not marketable. making it big in the industry is more than just rapping. you need to know how to present yourself and build a character that fans can connect with and like beyond the music. look how biggie, jay, pac, etc fans care about what they do and did personally for example, they had something interesting about them together with the music that intrigued fans. unfortunately philly rappers just come off like regular dusty dudes who can rap and most of them lack the work ethic and smarts to put in work to do what it takes, but hey all these big rappers copied their style :troll: so i guess it evens up

That's why NY stay trying to copy Philly's style. We set the trends, they follow what we did. We stopped wearing Air1s when NY made that song.

I always thought that Young Chris was gonna be a star. His mixtapes are dope as hell.

He got the skills and persona to take it to the next level.

this is ridiculous.

philly exudes swag and were the originators of alot of the trends that you follow.

rick ross beard? no you mean an aki beard. rick ross copped his whole look and steez from philly.

who told you that air force ones are popular in philly? is this a throwback post that im responding to? let me check the dates.

lol Lamar is Chicago have a MUCH bigger buzz than Meek... black or white... either way.

even if u are right, what is the prize for having more black fans again? :whoa:

i seriously doubt the 1st statement.

hold up....did you just ask whats the prize for having black fans?:mindblown:

new york rappers like fat joe will tell you otherwise.

new york took credit for alot of stuff that philly put down. ALOT.

:comeon: where da fukk u at? I was in LA this week and I heard swimming pools in every other car. Im in Oakland now and money trees get played everywhere............. stop it man.

hey, im just going by what the credible posters that actually live in california have said. and they didnt say that nobody listened to kendrick. they just said that meek is getting more play out there on kendrick's so-called turf.

of course youre going to hear "swimming pools" in every car. its all over the radio!!!!!!

he doesn't have it in him....at all

now this i agree with.

i never got into the "young chris is the future" hype.

he never had it in him to be a big solo star. he was better off in the young gunz as the primary emcee, trading verses with neef buck, who brought alot of stuff to the table that chris lacked.

but this is the era where everybody just has to go solo, and the music suffers because of that.
